Yeah I did.

And I'll hopefully get some soundclips up one of these days. I have a nice audio interface, but haven't taken the time to sit down with it and use it much, but it's on my list of things to do.
 
I love this bass! What a great sound, so versatile it's unbelievable. It's one of the most beautiful basses I've ever owned, and definitely the best-built (and I've had many other Warwick's, all of which were great...but this one just seems like that little extra bit of care and attention was given to it). The Streamer Stage II has always been my all-time dream bass, and still is...but wow, this one really got close! Now that I have both, there will be no removing this smile off my face!

Anyway, got some better (albeit still cell phone) pictures! I love showing off new toys!

Those are nice pix for a cell phone!!! Man I really don't like lacewood and the inlays but that neck is something else...
Jazzman configuration is also a huge plus!!
I know the ss2 may look a bit bland compared to that neck.

I remember a while back looking at the flamin blonde and thought it was a bit too much and over the top. All I had seen were press shots though, but after looking at some home pictures from owners, I quickly changed my mind. I love the lacewood (though I've seen it on other instruments, and it can definitely get too busy...I think it helps that the Thumb is such a small bass, it seems to keep it in check), and the inlays I also love now. On the neck they're actually pretty subdued and hard to see, but on the knobs i think they look absolutely killer. The neck is a real treat though! The Pro M I had was a wenge neck, but the thin profile, and I really didn't like it. I thought maybe it was the wenge grain I disliked, but I was wrong. This has a wenge neck, but is the thick profile, and it's absolute perfection. Don't get me wrong though, I still adore the Stage II, and the neck on that is just as much a joy to play! I love the ying-yang inlays.

The jazzman pickups are amazing. My girlfriend was listening to me last night to hear how it sounded (naturally, she loved it), and I went through all the tonal options by just changing the pickups and using the switch, didn't touch the EQ at all, and she was seriously impressed by how many sounds it can get with that alone. Add in the 3-band eq, and there's just no stopping this bass! I still think I prefer the tone of the Stage II a bit more, but now this can add in all the other tones, which means I don't have any need for any more basses!
 
I know what you mean. I do prefer the tone of the ss2 more than my pnut but I told my brain there is no difference and I have to love everything about my bass =)

So sunday will be the day: first gig with the white Thumb. Should look great, since we all play with black shirts ;)

It really took me some time to figure out the right EQ-settings with my tube preamp. I´m using an ART Pro Channel () , which gives me nice but definitely not vintage tube tone, it just warms up the sound a bit and gives some nice tube compression when digging in harder. Really a steal when you consider the price ( about 300 € new), a tube driven input stage, so the tube is not just for stealing high end as in most lower-priced tube preamps, tube-compressor and real tube-driven EQ, 2 bands of it semi parametric.
So totally flat EQ is nice, but somehow the tone seems to lack something. Might be, since my quest for the perfect stringset isnt over yet.
Black labels where really nice, but the last 2 sets died far to fast: 1 lasted for 2 weeks, the other for merely two rehearsals :( . Might switch to EMPs maybe later, but since no musicstore around here carrys them there was too less time to order them. So this time it will be GHS Boomers, which are doing really great on my SSII (and where the only spare set flying around at the time ;) ). They sound okay on the Thumb, their lows really complement nicely the mid-punch the thumb delivers, but I had to dial in some high mids for further focusation of the tone.

So, I`m quite excited, I`ll let you know how it sounds through 20 kW of PA 8:

Hey guys awesome thread :)

I've recently ordered my Thumb (from a friendly fellow in Quebec) and once this god forsaken Canada Post strike ends, I shall have my pretty! (muahahahaha). The only thing I dislike about the bass is its control knobs (as its pre-amp has been replaced with an EMG BTC), but I'll change them to the stock black chrome as soon as I can. One thing I really like about the grain is that the wood on the left side of the pickup has an almost "digital/pixel" effect to it. LOVE IT. ;)

That wood is very similar to mine Thumb 6 BO. Some pieces of Ovangkol are superior to others, I think!
It's a matter of fortune. ;)
