I think I posted pictures of this in another section but here's my Broadnecked version of above. Might be tempted to get some new tuner ends in a nice wood type but I'd probably end up bashing them on something!!

... it'd have to be either Ebony or Ovankol ends wouldn't it, Ebony would pay homage to classical instruments so I'd probably go for those if I did, oh and it would resist knocks better I think.

For sure. If I was ever going to have wooden tuner knobs, it would be ebony.

Let´s keep talking about Thumbs... please, I don´t wanna share the bad feeling here too. :)
 
... well the tone of my past Thumbs has been the best out of all the bases I've had. Past Thumbs include a pre '98 NT 4 (no neck volute) and post '98 NT 5 (with neck volute). Both beautifully made but moved them on due to the ergonomics not suiting me that well. My current Thumb BO 5 Broadneck fretless is slightly better and the fretless tone is superb, however it's not as 'thick' as my former NT models. I suppose that's due the body woods as they were made of Bubinga and Wenge rather than Ovangkol. Will that comment start a debate lol!!
 
Got some new tone control knobs for the thumber! Pretty stoked on em! Thg knobs killed it. Gonna get some ovangkol tuning keys too lol...probably up my skill level imediately
