TBH, I don´t slap. I won´t slap da bass even if my life deppends on it. That´s the funny thing of the pic: I still don´t know what the hell I was doing, why my right hand is like if I was doing some slappitty-poppity thing...

:D

´94 Warwick Streamer BO with ´97 Neck

Hey Guys quick question! i am maybe getting a 1997 SS2 Wenge Neck and Such. Any Idea what the necks are like on these? I like slim necks and 1.5 inch nut. I have a 1988 thumb nt right now. Thoughts? What can I expect to be different from my thumb? I am yet to play a streamer.

Hi Buddy,

The truth is the necks were not very consistent in size, both in 88 and 1997. But you can expect the 97 one to be thicker than the 88, still not very thick. The thickest ones were in the mid 2000's

I quite like the thick necks, I find my hand tends to cramp up with really thin necks.

Ok good to know! I don't like the mid 2000 ones but everything pre 2000 that I have played is manageable to excellent!

Sorry for all of the questions. I am looking at a 1988 streamer stage 1 for sale. Is has a broken truss rod. I am not sure in what way but I am curious. Is this a user replaceable rod? If so where can I get it and for how much approximately. Thanks! Really want to try a streamer.

There is no definitive answer re replaceable rod as the early rods were user-replaceable BUT there is no definitive year/date when these were retired AND I have heard of users with early basses that had problems getting the rods out. Best case scenario it is about £30 for a new rod and you can do it yourself, worst case; you need the fingerboard removed/replaced and that is certainly not cheap. You could ask the seller why they haven't replaced the rod (assuming it is DEFINITELY broken)! If it was an easy job they could well have had it done and charged more for the bass.... if it is a pig then they may just want rid of it due to the cost. One other factor; how much is it to buy? If it is cheap enough then you can budget for the worst case scenario.

It could be an expensive way to 'try' a Streamer. ;)

I wont pay more than $400 to $500 for it shipped with case. Worst case I should be under a grand right? Thanks for the input. I am hoping it is just user replaceable. i will pull the trigger on it for the right price. Same year as my Thumb and its BLUE! AWESOME!
