=The Warwick Streamer Club=

Nice Streamer, those Redwood SE are selling like bread. 8:

I have to admit, I was a little concerned at how the barts would perform in this bass. My concerns were quickly forgotten as soon as I plug it in. I think the Barts are a perfect compliment. The sound can go from very smooth and refined to biting and aggressive.

One thing I noted is that these pups are just a little bit smoother/quieter than the MEC pups. Not to take away from the MEC's, which sound great too.

I am assuming they were made in Germany, does anyone here know?

It is made in Germany

Hello all, this is my first post here. I am looking forward to spending some time here with all the Warwick lovers.

Anyway, I just picked up a Streamer LX SE Custom Shop

This is #22 of 40 (if I remember correctly)

I am very impressed with this bass. It has that killer warwick growl and tone for days. Great balance and really comfortable to play. I really missed having a Warwick and am so happy to have that sound back again. This one weighed in at 7.8 lbs. (3.5 kg.)

Also, I have a question. Where were these basses made?

Gorgeous body wood

I've discovered an irritating problem with my Streamer LX4. The tuners keep loosening off. When I try to tighten the nut it goes so far and then just loosens again. I had a close look at the tuners and I think there is a design fault here. The holes are too big so when the string is tightened it pulls the centre and causes the nut to slip. The nut also is not round but has 2 sides for some reason, this causes the nut to slip as only half the thread is connected at any time. Anyone had a similar experience?

I should have added to the previous post that the problem was resolved by a local luthier. I just mention it so that if anyone else comes across this it can be sorted out.

Hi Keith, what the luthier did to the bass?

Hi, my name isn't actually Keith. That's the name of the town where I live. I know it is a bit confusing. Anyway, I'm not sure of the details but I believe it involved dressing the threads with something and applying a type of tape to hold the nut securely in place.

they installed the wrong tuners in the factory (known issue) I believe.

I have the same issue. Although the string stays in tune, so that the problem hasn't evolved so far yet. But I was going to order a new set tuner/nut anyway to avoid problems in future.

This is incredible on two fronts. Firstly, that such a thing could get past quality control. And secondly, after having made the mistake there appears to be no apparent desire to put it right by offering owners a replacement set of tuners. These are not cheap basses. I am stunned.

Hey guys, this may be a stupid question, and has probably been covered before... but why is it that with the Streamers especially (and I guess Corvettes to an extent too) that the $$ models are so much cheaper than some of the others? Do the more expensive Streamers just have nicer woods or something? I'm not complaining by any means... the $$ electronics are my favorite electronics that I've ever played on any bass by any brand. I'm just curious about why these sweet instruments are so much cheaper.

Hi, El Bob.

The Streamer $$, just like the LX and Jazzman, has a lower sell price than its neck-thru brothers because it has a bolt-on construction. It is by no mean a "cheap bass".

Cheers.

Sorry, never meant to imply it was cheap in quality! The Streamer $$ is actually what I have, and I'm so impressed with it that I was just unsure why the price gap was so large :D

It is a bolt on cosntruction, so it is cheaper. Plus it is a more popular model, so we sell more of them, so we are able to lower the price even more.

probably because this isn't a classic bass focusing on the pickups.
eventhough musicman started with the neck humbucker in their basses, the single humbucker version is still way to go for the most. of course the f.n.a. was more expensive because of the additional top, but i think it still had been not cheaper than the $$.

versatile they say but i guess you could be versatile with any bass if you know how to handle.
i find it good for a bass newbie who still will find his sound.
and yes there are players who want the sound of a $$ as well.

i myself owned a $$ neckthru ash corvette but it had to go. it was cool but somehow all the switches and options was far too much for me. the sound was too boomy and i had no space to slap easily. i myself probably had more fun on a simple standart corvette and imaging all my streamers with a $$-configuration makes me wanna cry actually....
