No. But Man that guy can play.
His video actually sold me on the Jazzman. They have so many awesome tones. Such an underrated bass.

Yep. Mine has quickly become my go-to bass. Why didn't anyone tell us sooner, Herbie? :P

I'm late on this news! First off, congrats on the SS2. It really is one of the best, period. I really loved the tone mine had and I'm glad you're enjoying yours!

Hi everyone! I got my first Wick a couple of days ago (pics to follow), and I was hoping you guys could tell me something about it.

All I know from the serial number is that it's a '01 Streamer Jazzman 5-string bubinga top, swamp ash bottom, ovangkol neck, and wenge fretboard.

What I'm curious about is why does the headstock say Streamer LX Jazzman? I couldn't find anything about a Streamer LX Jazzman online.

i'm not a wood expert, but it does look more like bubinga than flame maple. i also entered the serial number in the warwick website and it said bubinga

About the "LX Jazzman" thing they all say that on the truss rod cover, but are refered to as simply streamer Jazzman. This is because the LX denotes that its a Bolt-on, as opposed ti the SSI and SSIIs which are NT. But as there are no NT streamers with the jazzman pups (except the P-Nut which has its own distictive name) the LX is generally left out of the name.

Ps these babies are IMHO the best bolt-ons that warwick have produced. If yours is some kind of CS with a bubinga top you are a lucky lucky basstard.

Just scored a 2010 Streamer LX SE Redwood (#15) on eBay and should have it by next week. Pics? Oh, if you insist:

I do have a question, though. I know that redwood burl is an exception to the "burls can't handle oil finishes and need a clear coat" rule, so I assume I'd give it the same waxing schedule as I do my Thumb? Or do I need to wax it more frequently since it's burl wood?

Nice bass! You should wax it like any other oil finished bass. I mean... it is oil finished, right? :-)

Honestly warwick should think about naming their finishes correctly. Oil finish may be satin finish on maple etc. That sucks and really is misleading. According to hpf all burl woods have a satin finish but they don't etc.

You simply need to know what finish you have on your bass to properly take care of it (without following a set of rules that may or may not apply to your instrument)

IT'S IN! :d :d :d

Closeup of the redwood:

With its cousin:

The redwood is MUCH more striking and "busy" in person - my cell phone doesn't do it justice!

Here's the seller's pic that really shows the redwood

Weighs 8.15 lbs (3.7 kg) on the digital scale so it's super comfy. Can you say "cold, dead hand?"

Nice Streamer, Matt, really nice.

The grain around the neck joint and the P pickup looks like fire. :)
