mmh probably

because I advertised the bass with black.
will check

See, that "bling bling" comparison makes gold hw look even worst.

I rest my case. 8:

Hah, you can hate all you want!
The guitar player called it a 'ghetto' bass, which I thought was pretty funny.

(If I had the choice, gold would be my last too)

Don´t mistake "not liking" with "hate". I only reserve hate for things that actually worth it, gold hw doesn´t.

Kev you gotta put black HW on that Stream of yours. Im drooollinggggg

Ill post my bass soon, im liking this tread haha

Hi, this is my first post here. I got myself a '91 Streamer Stage 1 5-string just the other week. It has been somewhat of a dream instrument to me since the beginning of the 90's when I started off with playing bass as a 12 year old on a plywood Ibanez bass.

I cleaned it up and gave it some tender loving care, some beeswax and lemon oil. The sound is beyond expectation. Playability in terms of action however, is decent, but still suboptimal compared to other basses I own. The neck currently has a slight forward bow which I try to correct with the trussrod. It's a single action truss rod which is tightened counterclockwise(!). There is, however, no real measurable effect when tightening the truss. I've been at it for the last couple of days, turning it 1/4 turn at a time, then leaving it to set. I have now reached the point at which further tightening is not possible because I've reached the end of the thread. Considering the aforementioned, my conclusion would be that the truss rod is broken and needs to be replaced. With what type however, is beyond me; I see multiple options in the Warwick webshop. Anyone here who can give a recommendation?

Oh yeah, a picture says more than a thousand words:

the rod is installed wrongly
it should tighten counterclockwise!

take it out - lubricate with silicon grease and put it back in correctly
that might do the job

the bass should have a 1 way aluminum trussrod - there is no exact replacement available but you can use a 1 way steel trussrod

But be careful, not to cause a crack in the neck! I only needed one turn to see the truss rod coming out of the back of the neck near the headstock. Uhh, this memory causes pain!

Thanks. As stated, it does tighten counterclockwise :D Gonna try lubricating it tonight and report back whether that was the clue. What I'm wondering though: is lubricating the truss rod going to fix the fact that it has no real measurable action even when the end of the thread is reached (and its nut is fully turned counterclockwise)?

Well, getting the trussrod out was a breeze. Cleaned it up, but noticed that even at full counterclockwise lock, there is stil only ~2mm of space between the two segments which seems quite small. Apart from that I can still easily straighten it by hand; I can imagine the neck easily doing the same thing. The resistance of the nut at that point is so great that I risk ruining the nut itself with the allen key. Guess I'll be swapping it with the iron one from the webshop then?

pls post pic I do not get 100% what you mean
Well, basically, the truss rod does not give any significant counterpressure when you try to straighten it by hand when it's nut is tightened to the max. Point is though that I've never had a trussrod in my hands before so I don't know whether this is intended behavior or a trussrod which is past its due date :)

this is how it in principal should look like when completely tightend
