They've discontinued the Corvette Std??? I mean like they don't build it anymore? What the ♣♣♣♣, but a serious WTF?!?!
 
Actually, I would have said "great new basses, they look nice, espacially the 2010 Ltd" but the fact that they've discontinued the entry model really sucks and overcomes the joy about the new models. I've played the Std. Bubinga and was awesome sounding...the decision to take the $$ was hard, and I even could imagine a Std. Bubinga beside it. But now :(
 
Not to feed the negative stuff, but my jaw just hit the floor when I saw the new pricelist... Retail for a Corvette $$ went up by $1,000 (US)? Really? That's gotta be a typo, right???

I feel like I've missed out big time on this. I ordered a Corvette STD on Monday and today was told that its 'discontinued'. Have to wait and see how that develops.

After years of playing Warwick copies and the like, it felt like it was in my hands and now its snatched out of my grasp.

Ah, OK, I see, it moved as Pro Series to RB factories. Not that I appreciate, but...
well...better than nothing. We're gonna see if the quality remains the same...

According to the website, there are CS orders of the Corvette Std. available. Is that true? Plus: I can't find any prices of that Corvette Std.
 
If you want a Corvette STD made in Germany, order a custom $$ with J/J pickups.... Or the same with a bubinga body...
 
not sold on the clayton model... i mean come on! 1 single coil pickup?! thats it?! this isnt F**der!! might as well make it a seymour duncan 1/4 pick up right? thats such an injustice to that gorgeous Warwick body, it looks so empty. anyone agree?
 
The Corvette STD. Is still available from Germany through special order, guys. Production has moved to Korea, not China.

Or, as to my understanding I should say.
 
4300 MSRP for a thumb BO 5. Woah..... I guess it was to fill the gap between NT and BO instruments....

A Corvette Std. 5 Active now costs more than my Vampyre SN, according to norwegian retail price. 6000 NOK/1050$/720€ extra for lefthanded.

..and if the retail on a $$ BO goes up, and with the Taranis out of the way, this isn`t that exciting anymore.

If I order anything now, I`m not really sure what price I`ll get anymore, so I`ll just wait and see (if anything exciting shows up).
 
The Squier Classic Vibe series of basses and guitars are fantastic - and made in China; however, some people won't play them because they've got 'Squier' on the headstock. Same with the old 'RockBass' line.

These days the wood is loaded into the same CNC macines and auto-fretters wherever they are in the world. As long as the quality-control is in place throughout the whole process then I don't see the problem - or perhaps the problem is subjective rather than objective.

I applaud Warwick for listening to it's customers while making sound commercial decisions in a difficult economic climate. None of us would be happy if Warwick went bust!

Yeah. but that'll make it much more expensive...but they wrote on the Corvette Std. site
"Specifications are subject to change without notice. For all non-listed options please refer to the Warwick Custom Shop! "

so this means you can still order CS Corvettes Std
 
I have been indecisive over whether or not to get a Corvette Std for such a long time. Seems like I got one of the last ones, built in December 09. How lucky is that. I mean not that the Korean model is bad (I think my Spector is a Korean build if I'm not mistaken and it's pretty good) but no one can deny that with a manufacturer as prestigious as Warwick it feels good to have one from the original factory right?

Retail is $5500 (4-string) and $5900 (5-string). So typical street prices should be around $4000 and $4300, although you can always find deals (maybe $3500/$3750?)...

*EDIT: I probably should have looked that you're in England first... those prices are US, of course.
