I just cant help but imagine the possibilities these pickups offer.
All the advantages of the $$,with single coil cutting throaty clarity.
That's a cool name for an album huh.:lol:
 
i love the single cut, i wish i could get one. unfortunately the only way i ever got my other thumbs was on the used market. at my age without a job i could never afford a brand new store priced thumb:((

About the Pro series, I have no problem with that... It seems it was a quick easy and practical decision to move production for these basses to
the far east. Don't forget there are still 3 $$ German 'vettes, one BO and two NT. I think it would be good to expand the vette NT models with
different pickup configurations, like MM/J and J/J. You know, something similar to MusicMan basses, both ash and bubinga NTs with $/$, $/J and
J/J pickup configs. Wow, that would make it 6 basses there. Hmmm, perhaps after a while the 2-3 best sellers could stay in the line. Of course I
don't know how practical this would be construction wise or how good it would be marketing wise. I think a good naming scheme would help.
$/J looks and sounds somewhat odd...

As long as the quality control is there, I don't care where it's made. WHO is much more important. Just need to catch the duds before they leave the factory.

If I had a $$ that's exactly the mod I'd seriously look into making.Even if it meant a little routing.I think it'd be well worth it,even just to have a change from the humbuckers.

Well, since I feel kinda pin pointed by this post greg, listen to me.

For sure, personally, I really don't care about where it is made, since "I" don't plan to buy one. It's just that I love warwick so much, I would be sad to see them getting a bad name for a move like this. Like I said, I don't know much about marketing, I just try to use my common sense. Also, I don't think the quality would be lower, I just think that people think it will be lower, since it's China. But I know for a fact that the east produces GREAT instruments like the Lakland Skylines. I don't doubt it, I think some people will.

Hell, I hope I'm wrong all along and everyone enjoys the bass, no doubt about it.
 
Another thing i didn't think of is another price hike...and they wanted to keep those models fairly affordable. Or i could just wish for a price drop! ::crosses fingers::
 
Well, I personally feel you're commenting toward me as well Greg... so, seeing as I asked for an explanation, how about providing one instead of spouting of the "ffs's" and allowing your temper to better you?

No disrespect man, but jeeze, I don't buy used d, and perhaps I was considering a real German made ash veterans as q Escondido axe instead of a rockbass. Now, I have no option, its Chinese or $$, and I don't like that pickup configuration.

I'm not insinuating lower quality, or inferior product, what so ever. I am of German heritage, its why I carry a walther, its why I play Warwick, its because I'm proud of my heritage, excuse m for being a scoche bit upset man. We all know you can't please everyone 100% of The time, and I'm generally one that is pleased, so I think I'm entitled to a gripe here and there.

Am I slamming Warwick? No. Am I dropping my Warwick? No. I asked for a reason, and said I was upset, that's it.

Philipe,please dont be offended & take what I've said too personally.My post is more of a reaction to what has been said,rather then towards those who have said it.I know that sounds like a complete crock,but I think we've all known each other long enough to at least be honest.
By all means,if I say anything that ruffles your feathers,speak up mate.One of the reasons I think this forum's the best,is coz we can be completely honest with each other,while remaining on good terms.:d

I will give you my honest thoughts as well.

My first Warwick was a Corvette Proline in 1995. I am grateful I could afford a German Warwick back then.

I did a lot of effort into making the people not to look at the Corvette series as a low entry level Warwick, and to make them think of them as different voiced high end, German built Warwicks.
To be honest, I have the feeling the people always believed that the "real" warwicks started with Streamer LX or something.

And all the "Why is the thumb BO so much expensive than the corvette STD bubinga" threads, remember? Nobody asked why the vettes where so inexpensive, everybody was complaining about the thumbs being expensive...
Well, the truth is that we were losing money with the standard series. Our trained workers were doing pretty much the same effort with a corvette STD like with a Streamer Stage II, on less than 1/3 of it's price.

And the business is tough these days, we all know this.
I am grateful that Warwick still exists. I am grateful for the new LTD, which is for me the sexiest LTD ever! The new Single Cut Warwick is a "must buy" for me now as well.

So I guess, weare not keeping our balance well, but if you are honest, you see that we are actually improving.

So if you see the corvette std series as an entry level, you have the possibility to buy it as the new pro series. And you who see the corvette std as a serious axe, you still have the possibility to buy it, and to pay it's fair price.

What you guys think?
 
I still think its slighlty saddening that The corvettes wont be made in the same factory as its brothers. I understand the reasons you've provided Flo, that the workers time would be better spent on the higher end models... I may not agree with his, but I understand it.

I've always had a problem with people considering the Corvette a "cheap" entry level bass, however, you have to keep in mind, the cheapest bass of a makers line, will always be considered the "cheap" entry level model. Its not a bad thing, because The fact is, I'm willing to bet 80% of us started on one. And the fact is, that the "cheap" entry level bass slot will be filled with the previous second cheapest bass, LOL.

I did however always wonder why the thumb bolt on was so expensive, never argued it, just wondered.

Oh, I'm not feathered or anything like this XD. I just wanted to clarify my point of view on the subject. I know I have reacted a bit strongly, but I was really surprised.
 
We are all sad about this man, be sure... I hope one day, the vette will be back as a production model.

Untill then, keep in mind that it is still available as special order.

You are very right about the lower product. Now it is the $$, hahah!!!

♣♣♣♣ why did i sold my corvette std!!! now when i hear this i really want it back again....
i find it totally sad that the std isn't made in the same factory. it's such a great bass for the price and gave warwick a good name and pride but on the other side i understand the work and financial a company has to give.

i think i'm startin a collection with vintage and no more build wicks:) ... and the sc, man it's awesome and has all the best of my 3main basses (thumb nt4, corvette nt ash and stage1!!!)
