Please, also don't misunderstand. I have great respect for the builders of this new Thumb, and I personally like the looks of the inlay as opposed to without (the "negative space" comment someone made holds very true, i think it was a brilliant move). I think the inlay is getting much undue flak thrown at it, and I'd hate to be the guy who made the decision to add it. Whoever that was, I feel them, and support them in that decision. Sometimes you just gotta try new stuff and see what happens.

I actually like the one with the inlay better, it does make it look good!

Single cuts just aren't my thing. You wont find me with one of those. I really don't see a problem with the move to Korea. I have one of the chinese rockbass vampyre's and it's awesome. I like it more than my Wick $$. The only thing I wish it had is the proper Warwick chunky neck. I bought one of the ones with the Rockbass logo painted up the headstock and I'm not ashamed because it's still a great bass that sounds great and plays lovely. I'm always going to love Warwick stuff because it doesn't look like a Fender or a Musicman. Now if Rickenbacker made a 24 fret bass with a chunky neck and stop hiking up the price for what they've been making for the last 30 years then that might draw me away from Warwick, but only just.

Agreed. I think too many single-cuts look like half of one guitar glued to half of another. The Thumb SC at least bridges the body lines a bit between the middle and upper parts.
 
You cannot judge a bass design until you see it played.

The funny thing is everyone is pretty much unanimously loving the LTD 2010, but I'm not so big on it. It certainly looks nice, but the really dark on really light woods is too much contrast for me.

Diif'rint strokes for diff'rint folks.
 
I def like the SC without the skunk stripe. That should be a CS option at the least!

When will the The Corvette Standard as a German built model be discontinued? It's just that I ordered a new passive Corvette Standard in the UK at the end of November 09 and have yet to recieve it and hope that when it does arrive, it is a a German made one as I had originally ordered.
 
Any Corvette ordered in 2009 will still be a German built one. There is no chance of a Corvette being Korean as of yet, as the delivery of the first Pro Series models will take a few months still.

Thanks Matthijs for the info. I was getting worried. I have waited 21 years to get myself a German made Warwick bass in Ash and I really did not want it to go wrong now I have finally ordered one.

Whoa, u still havn't received your bass yet? thats like nearly 2 months! I ordered my new corvette at the begining of January and its meant to be with me at the begining of Febuary! i'd speak to your dealer mate

Tell me about it. I spoke to the shop, Andertons in Guildford 3 times now. When I ordered it at the end of Novemeber, they did say Warwick take about 4 weeks to deliver. So after 4 weeks (21st December) I phoned again and they phoned Warwick there and then and the new date given was 15th January. Warwick said that there is a delay and its not even in production yet. So on the 15th January I phoned Andertons again and they said the new date is 1st February. The delay is because of the snow and Warwick are having problems get stuff out. I must admit, I am getting a little frustrated.

Maybe someone from Warwick here can confirm there is a delay. Its only a 4 string Corvette Standard in Ash with passive pickups and electronics.

Mate,sorry to hear of the delays,but your dealer is the best person to advise you of your basses eta.

Thats what I was thinking too.. I would love to hear it!! Warwick should put up sound clips of the basses and amps!!

Yes to Guildford but no to being expensive. In fact they even price matched my Corvette to the cheapest place I could find online :)
