Show Your Pedalboards (Evo) Then

Comp is setup to be nice and transparent but adds a little punch. Before this one I have been using Markbass Compressore and Trace Elliot SMX dualband.

The dualband was by far the most punchy one but not transparent at all. I currently prefer the TLC to both other comps.
 
Trying to set up my signal chain, I'll soon receive my boss BCB-60.
For the time being I have next to none efects, but will probably add one or two.
I was thinking :
Bass ---> PolyTune--->CryBaby Bass ---> Ashdown LoMenzo distortion --->to be added Chorus/flanger/Ditto/whatever.

Wondering what is the most important between an EQ and a compressor in the chain, also.

Thoughts ?
 
The compressor. EQ- well, you should have enough tone shaping buttons already :-)
 
i usually change bass when i want to change tone.
You mean... Wait... I can change tone with knobs !!?? :-)
Joke aside, i almost never change my tone in a song, and usually if I do, i just change my right hand position.
Old School.
But, well... I like gizmos :-)

*sigh* now, because I have one hell of an eBay trigger finger, I have now have a new in box Darkglass Vintage Microtubes coming in this week. Don't tell the wife :-D
 
Nice! I think you'll love that pedal! Not as scooped as b3k/b7k. Remember to have your lows come from the amp eq rather then the bass onboard eq for the sickest of tones.

Can you give me a good dies rioting that highlights the difference between the two?
 
Well with the b3k and b7k I found myself unable to dial in that oldskool rock tone I was searching for. Think Yes/Rush/The Who. I did like the B?K pedals but needed a more mid heavy grind. The VMT does exactly that. Combining B3K/B7K with the VMT will allow you to have three different sounds with mild classic and modern distortion or heavy distortion by kicking in both. Lots and lots of options there and everything stays tight and aggressive.
 
I have found this to work well, very tansparent which is what I like.

My current plan for a pedal board will be a reverb in the loop, tapped down inside the rack, and 2 single footswitches controlling mute and FX Loop :)
Reverb pedal is likely to be the Neunaber WET Mono, but thumb first, everything else later :)
 
Updated pedalboard. I changed old chorus to EBS UniChorus, added Warwick (of course) Rocktuner and all cables are now Sommer Hicons...

I think I will go for a pedalboard, nothing special, just big enough for 4 pedals. I would like one with built in power supply. Pros/cons, suggestions?
