Crappy pic butHere is my latest itteration. Sound is similar, but i have the power sorted. Probably as silly as you want to get with power options, But I'm a big fan of the T-Rex Chameleon. At the moment my chain is:
Sure Digital wireless (18v DC pos tip)
Korg tuner (9VDC)
MXR Blowtorch (18V DC)
MXR M-80 (9V DC)
Digitech expression factory (12V AC)
Dunlop bass wah (9V DC)

And its all run out of one power supply! LOVE my rig now, all my leas are tidy, all i need to to run power to the board (iec cable) and a lead to my head. EASY! and less crap to trip over on stage.
 
Hey Augie, I have a question: could you record a short clip only using the MXR Blowtorch? I´m not happy with the pedal and sold it. Buyer sent it back and told me, that it is not working properly in his opinion. I took it to Thomann, they say it´s all right the way it sounds. I will record a clip too this evening, really want to know if it´s o.k. or not.

Hardy, I was going to set my board up with my recording gear this weekend so I'll do a couple sounds for you.
The Blowtorch is a weird one, its more of a middy-fuzz than a drive. It took me a while to get used to it and find a place for it. The "full-bore distortion' the website described is totall bollocks.
 
According to Rex Brown (Pantera), he used one Blow Torch on the recording of Kill Devil Hill´s latest album.
 
Actually I used the Blowtorch all the way through this song (demo quality only I'm afraid) Its used with the wah in the intro, and it this pairing I find particularly fun.



IIRC the signal there was jazzman->blowtorch-> wah-> markbass TA503
 
Ah, thanx for this! None of our demos has the quality of this one. Maybe I will try to combine the pedal with some other effect too. I just miss some bottom end. Bi-amping could be a solution. But as the guy at Thoman - a guitar player mainly - said: "Yeah, the pedal distorts the lower frequencies, but that´s o.k.! You bassmen always fear that an effect cuts your eggs off!" :lol:
 
It does take the 'ass' out of the sound a bit (using the TM Stevens scale of tones), I use it for a more 'vintagy' tone, like a song that could suit a middy-7ender type ax through a valve head that wont stay clean. But I do like having that option, I only use it sparingly, one whole song and half of another in more than an hours music.
Also the mid switch on it lets you choose what I call the focus of the fuzz, low and it mucks with your lows and low mids, high and it is more a high mid fuzz. It does have a blend knob as well, which is where you can dial some lows back in, but at the expense of dialling fuzz out.

A little out of focus, but I`ve only got a Zoom MS-60B, Ibanez Weeping Demon and a Sennheiser Wireless.

I had an EH Bass Muff Pi, Hartke VXL (similar to a Sansamp DI), Digitech Bass Synth and Overdrive, Grombass Fuzz and a Planet Waves Tuner.

After A-B`ing the other pedals, the Zoom MS-60B easily replaced most of them.

If you dig 2-storey pedalboards and dancing the riverdance between them, this isn`t for you, but for me it made experimenting much easier than buying 15 at 100-200$ each.
 
Took of the modulation and delay crap as those aren't noisey enough. ;)

Charmand, can you compare Zoom with Boss GT6B ? Boss weights too much, I started thinking it should be replaced with something light but without loosing the edge.
 
Fwiw, I had my ms60b for approx. 2 hours before deciding it was utterly useless and sounds crap.

There is a phrase: "one man´s trash is another man´s treasure" (or something like that). Guess this is a proof of that.
