The Ash bass will soon end up in the mojoed basses thread, its got a few little bits of character and staining, should come up very mojoed within a small amount of time!
it's really stunning! good in you for swapping them out. hope you won't leave out the ash vette though. ash vettes still rock.
i made a mistake in getting an ash vette though. after hearing you guys talk about bubinga i realised its more of my tone. shud have spent a couple hundred more and get the bubinga with the active electronics! i still regret my decision!
doesnt matter. i hope to save enough to get thumb 5 NT within a few years!
Yep, Wenge does tend to splinter... If you decide to fo a defret job be sure to tape around the frets to keep the wood from splintering... Also flattening the neck will help the frets come out a bit easier.
Personally I would do a defret job on the ash corvette... But thats just me
Better yet, just hold out until you can sneak an entire fretless 'vette into the budget and then you won't have to worry about screwing up a first-rate 5 string fretted bass.
nah im not defretting one, although i've had good results defretting an ibanez. but after the initial excitement wore off, i never play it. i just prefer frets.
