Incoming!!! (show Us Your New Stuff Before You Actually Have It)

Well- I have requested a cancellation on the Orange Crush 25 as I reflected on how it may not respond so well to a low B given that it has a small 8 inch speaker as compared to the 50 watt model with a 12. But it remains to be seen if it will occur, Amazon saying that it can't be guaranteed because I waited about 12 hours. Hey, it's okay regardless - push comes to shove I probably wouldn't mind leaving it at my parents' house-

However in the meantime I did pull the trigger on this one- having seen some rather nice demos where they proved it was capable with a low B. And it would be easily transportable, weighing just 8.8 lb with dimensions of 8 x 8. x 6.8, even as carry on with an airliner. A good thing because I can't see myself leaving it behind- it can also run off a 19 volt battery away from home- Well, that is the conundrum- if I get something really nice, I won't want to be leaving it behind, as opposed to something that just gets me by-

By the way, for anyone interested, these are the demos invoking the low B that swayed me-

Fortunately my cancellation request for the Orange 25 was accepted . Not disparaging the little amp, it’s just none of the online demos were with a five string bass-

Meanwhile I found this entertaining and informative vid by Phil Jones, a bassist for over 50 years, and engineer researching the perfect sound for over forty years-

He admits that his collection of 80 basses is a bit much, but in the early days he was able to convince his wife that each new purchase was necessary for research!

Makes me glad that I purchased one of his amps!

It has arrived, and all I can say is woweee!
Can’t just like, but love this post! It looks a lot like the latest Warwick Official submission on Instagram-

Like that one- it looks good enough to eat!

Congratulations bro!!!

It was inevitable I suppose- first got on my radar this time last year- got it with a major discount (40% off) as new B-stock but with full Gibson warranty. It has some minor paint missing along the top and bottom edge of the headstock and a case with some scratches and dings. But it comes with full Gibson warranty-

Nothing that a black lacquer guitar marker can't alleviate- which is also incoming from Stewmac-

I admit I was skeptical regarding T-Birds given that the Gibson pickups I've known were muddy sounding, and it didn't help that most demos featured them going through some kind of overdrive giving it a dark grungy sound. However this demo convinced me at around 6:22 where he begins to play clean with melodic lines and arpeggios-
