Who is your favourite Warwick endorser and why?

I know he's not an endorser anymore and since he passed away in May, it won't happen again, but I guess the late Paul Gray is my favorite endorser : why? Because I discovered the Thumb Bass and more generally Warwick thanks to him. He has the best bass sound I have ever heard on Iowa, full of growl, damn, awesome. yeah, He's never been the best bass player, nor the fastest or anything, but who cares? He did his job great and was a great guy (with his dark side too sadly).

If you're talking about a solo bass record... then what's really so impressive about that?

What impresses me are the players that can hold a band together, have amazing groove, tone, and solid ability. Like them or not, Trujillo and Clayton both fit the bill.

Oh yeah, forgot about him. Really like his playing too! Really shows how to play death metal without just following the guitars and still keeping the bass playing role.

+1 nicely put flipper_gv, i will add to this comment on the playing of Lex Sadler that this morning i played the vol1 of the forum CD. I personally think the song from Mr. Big (and Proconsul) are the best songs of the compilation.
I really am impressed by the playing of Lex on that song! so yes i think Lex definitely belongs to my favourite endorsers

Also for the same reason (i like the proconsul song) and for other reasons (Florin is a super Forum host) i think Florinis belongs in the list of my favourite Warwick endorser.

Marco Hietala, because he is the reason I am playing bass. And I do believe he is an endorser, there's been publicity pix made for Warwick and clip. And Zac has mentioned his brother's endorsements....

For me there's no better bass to learn on and pay my dues...

Uhm, yeah - never said anything like that. But for those not knowing: Bootsy and TM together had "giant funkadelic-bring it on the ONE -Warwick partys" at Frankfurt Musikmesse. I love TM since I've seen him the first time and been to some concerts - and I love Bootsy. Both great musicians and persons

lol thats not what i meant by it... i meant he doesnt deserve to be mentioned with these names. well actually thats a little to mean. i think hes only recognized because hes part of the biggest metal band in the u.s. and a bunch of gay metallica fanboys thought he was the greatest thing since toilet paper

Just a bit of logic here. It's the biggest metal band ever and one of the biggest band of history. They could have gotten ANYONE for the job and EVERYONE would have accepted. Pretty sure Vic, Matt Garrison or even Hadrien Feraud would have taken the job, considering there were millions of dollars in line. But, they still chose Rob. He has to be THAT good to be in the band.

Sure, his technique is ugly as ♣♣♣♣ing hell, but apparently, dunno how, it works, and it works ♣♣♣♣ing well for him.

Ha, mate! They should hear the rest of that Delicatessen stuff. Absolutely fantastic. I listen to it at least once a month and really don't understand why you guys didn't make it out of Perth. Easily as good as most bands who have record deals.

I think the standard of bands that come out of Perth is extremely high. I dunno if it's something in the water, or what. But there's so many bands I love, only to discover they're a Perth band.
