Dear Beda, here is a clip with a Corvette STD ASH, pas/ pas, pickup blend 50/ 50%, recorded directly in the soundcard, no preamp, no eq, no compression. Sorry for my lack of skills, and for the poor recording, but you can have a general Idea. :-)

Sounds closer to a Marcus Miller slap tone than what the Bubnga sounds like...

Just the bass in the soundcard. Yours should sound even better... This was Ash, yours is bubinga. Yours should sound more present than this, but a little bit on the modern side.
The pan pot trick always helps if you want to sound old school :-)

My believe is that you try too much to tweak you controls :-) Remember, this one is with everything flat.

I just got an idea... you should check if your neck pickup is functioning, this could be a problem...
 
Great sounding bass...............

But definitely less Warwicky with less guts..............Just my opinion...... 8)
