I totally have the same problem. It's all about multitasking, which in my case sucks. When I get excited during band practice I sometimes yell out the lyrics along with the singer. The side effect of that is that I stop playing the bass without noticing it. My band mates usually asks me WTF I'm doing

Singing while playing drums is far more difficult to do than playing bass and singing.
I have been working on our good friend Seth Horan's song "Something Pretty", practicing my bass playing and singing... I'm getting better

Same here. I can't play a bass line and sing without messing up the bass line. If I'm playing some rock music I might be able too because the licks are easier though.
