early 1987 5er thumbs in your case made in january were still build like the ones in 1986. original thumb shape. a truly gem you're having there!
 
Hello! From me and my THUMB NT 1996

Hi everybody, I am a new convert. From Fender to Warwick. Out of the darkness into the light (for me). I managed to free myself from the old Fender Pbass and take-up the living thing they call a Thumb! My new best friend is a 1996 NT Thumb, which used to belong to UK Ken on this forum. She is a beauty and sounds fantastic - having so much fun.
Only problem I have is the case issue that I read about far back on this thread. Does anyone have the bottom line on what hard shell to use?

Welcome to the forum, JJ!

Great bass you have, beautiful grain! I think you can use any case, but be careful that the tuners don't touch the case. We use some half moon pillows to keep the bass in place :-)

Why has the pickupangle been changed?

... it really sounds great with this pickupplacement ...

Just picked up an 88 nt4 thumb. LOVE

NEEDS SOME TLC




Already started taking it apart do I can clean it up properly

Hahaha nice.

Yeah it's in very good condition. Hardware has some small chips here and there and there is light scratching on the back but otherwise it's in great condition. Sounds and play like a monster
