After some "research" (i.e. googling ) it seems to me that the good old Gotoh GB350 are still the lightest tuners on the market. I'm a bit surprised that no-one has made anything lighter in the last decade or so, but on the other hand, I have been very happy with these on my other Warwicks: GB350 - G-GOTOH

personal taste…but I also prefer Gotohs…best price/quality ratio!

I been doing my reading too and from what I can tell they only made walnut bodies on 1994 and very early 1995. My body may have been made around this time and then paired up with a neck in 1996. It's also August 1996. So fairly late.

Hello there,

I bet you could easily measure the width of the current JANII or III on your Thumb with a ruler. It is as easy as that.
For a 4-string should be 38.5mm, 99.95% sure.

My Bleached blonde had a 38.5mm JAN 2 nut with the typical broken side tabs, which functioned fine during my time with the bass. The brass JAN 3 is the most recent update to the Warwick nut, but I would prefer the JAN 1 as you can adjust the string hight of each string individually.

Swapping the bridge has been a great idea so far.
The Thumb is less unbalanced and the sound definitely improved. The open strings now ring endlessly and have a nasty growl to them !
Nothing special with the Schaller tuners : the do the job and do it well.
