Hi, first post here.
I recently picked up a 1986 Streamer fretless. It has the obligatory headstock crack that's been professionally repaired. I took it to my tech here in NYC to check it and he agreed it's solid.
Lightweight, well balanced and sounds amazing.
Cheers.

Is it cherry? I wasn't sure what kind of wood it is.
I've emailed Warwick for more info.

Sound of the '88 is thunder; the preamp I believe is a Bartolini as are the PUs

And still working on setup; the base for the bridge was too high, had to chisle out some of the wood. Screws for the PUs too short, ordered longer ones

nope...electronics on the picture looks like a passive BEC1 (MEC);)
Passive PUs, active preamp - there's a battery ;)
It can't switch passiv as in MEC, the little white box has a gain pot, but the wiring is different to the NTBT-918

the “old” BEC1 (MEC) did not have the “active/passive feature” = volume poti with push/pull function☝️

BEC1 (MEC) from a Streamer Stage 1 5 string with Bartolini soapbars...
Interesting - wasn't aware that BEC had an output knob; my '89 SS1 EMGs PUs doesn't, but my '90 SS2 MEC PUs does ..
