The fuzz and delay I mainly use when playing solo but I haven't used either in the 3 new songs we're working on since I started playing together with my guitarist again. I have a lively tone to work with and I can focus completely on musical content rather than on throwing in more effects, keeping the vibe somewhat more oldskool - which is actually what I am looking for. The DCX is much better at this job then any Darkglass or Tech21 pedals I have tried.

I'm about to sell my Line6 HX - to many pedal mods, not used and dusting in a corner.

I was looking at both Cali76 and Darkglass Hyper Luminal to replace my MB Compressore (fantastic but too big for a board; also the 12V issue), and I decided for the HL. What I read is that Cali and HL are even on the FET (1176) compression, but the HL has further 2 modes, the BUS apparently very usable.

For toneshaping and overdrive I'm looking at the DCX and B7k, where the latter has also a DI. The DI is great and I need it when I go to rehearsals and plug my current MXR DI in the PA. Not sure yet which way to go.

I found the B7K too metal orientated for my own taste, it is also a bit fizzy sounding. Both DCX and B7K will have their territories though.

Have not been playing to long but did finally get around to making a board. So first run at one not sure if all them are needed but GAS took over very quick.

The 2 compressor modes (FET & BUS) are also helpful/versatile
Important for me to have DI out at the end

A funny thing happened on the way to rebuilding my pedalboard today. I was going to have an identical setup, except for also incorporating the Behringer Brassmaster clone. I was all set to pull out my old PT-2 and put the Jr away, when both of the plastic jacks on my Markbass Compressore broke at the ends, making it impossible to screw the plastic nuts back on. For now, it's been shelved, and that frees up a ton of real estate. Not only did I get the Brassmaster on there, but I also swapped out the crappy Mooer tuner for an old Peterson Strobostomp that previously wouldn't fit.

I think it's my only compressor-free board ever. Will I get another? Time will tell.

The Digitech BSW is used exclusively as an octave pedal. The washed-out orange pedal on the upper left is an MXR Phase 95.

Well, my "no compressor" phase lasted all of a week, LOL. I picked up the Wampler Ego 76 this morning. I'm back to the larger board, which is going to cost me a bit, because the old bag fell apart, and if I want to transport this safely, I'll have to replace it.

There's something satisfying about a freshly arranged board, isn't there?

This is for guitar. Also working on revision of the bass board.
The Big Muff 2 is really nice on guitar, not so much on bass. Plasma coil will make any instrument sound like a plasma coil.
The two overdrives: Twin Tube fattens any guitar with creamy warmth, Flux Drive keeps the sound of your specific guitar (pickup) more intact and more sensitive to the wah pedal so having both is really nice.
Pitch fork for that one Radiohead tune I play (My Iron Lung) and on the Atlantic I only use the delay.
Rat has been discarded in favor of the Flux Drive.

I use my A/B like this... First, I have 6 dirt boxes. 3 are on the A channel, 3 are opn the B channel. This is dirt box overkill, but like I said, this is a "Mad Scientist" board, not one I'd take out gigging.

Lets say I have only 2... I would do this with an A/B pedal if I only had 2 dirt pedals... so... I can turn on one while I am playing on the other... then for a different solo, click on the second one, and if I want can click off the first one, then change back to A and I have a clean channel. Before the A/B box, I have a boost pedal I can engage, so with just 2 pedals, an A/B and a boost, I have many different dirt choices.

Each dirt pedal does something differet. My biggest surprise was the Electro-Harmonix Crayon overdrive. I can't get enough of playing thru that thing. Not at any high gain thing, just a medium gain that gets out of the way. The Soldano SLO Overdrive (big white biox) is for high gain...

I don't think the YouTuibe videos on the Crayon do it justice... I would recommend test driving one in person. I like how it makes m,y noltes feel... if that makes any audible sense, LOL...

but it's really such a useful and high quality unit
if you see one I suggest have a go
