@Bassist4Eris what do you use for octave? do you do much midi? I’ve been looking at the SA C4 and wondering if I get it, will I ever come out of the music room? Lol
its funny, I recorded a line last week, kind of an upbeat rocker, and when I was setting up, I set up my Duality Fuzz pedal. My bro/drummer saw it and said, what’s that for? I told him I’d be doing some takes with it. Him and the guitarist were very skeptical, but once I did it, and they saw how it still kept the real fundamentals, they loved it. We ended up keeping a clean and fuzz track, and we are just gonna blend em when we mix it down.

As of two days ago I'm using the "sub" mode of the EHX Bass Mono Synth. I like it so far, but of course it hasn't even passed the rehearsal test yet, much less the gig test.

Prior to that I was using the Digitech Bass Synth Wah in "OctaSub" mode, with the "range" knob turned all the way off to remove the "Atari laser" sound. It's a very good octave sound, the main disadvantage being that you can't mix out the dry signal. But it tracks very nicely; I even slapped through it on one song on the upcoming Uneven Steven record.

For a short while prior to that I was using the EHX Nano POG, with the idea that it could also replace my 8-string. But I don't like the sound of this pedal overall, and I've never found an octave-up pedal that sounds good on bass. They all sound warbly and unnatural to me.

On the last Uneven Steven record I used a good ol' Boss OC-2 ("Ice House"). It currently needs a new power jack, so it's shelved. If I were to replace it with something similar, I'd probably go with the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, which I've tried in person and was really impressed with.
 
I liked the sound of the Bass Clone chorus in your demo-- perhaps the circuitry is different than that of a standard chorus?

Yeah, I think it must be. I've tried a hundred different choruses, but this one is unique. It's also pretty cheap in comparison to many of them.

I had a Boss CE3 that sounded phenomenal with guitar but not bass , ditto for my BF2 flanger. I’ll definitely keep the Bass Clone in mind for bass chorusing.

A notable exception regarding guitar pedals would be my MXR Phase 90 which sounds great with a bass.
 
Yes, the Bass Clone does have circuitry designed to best accommodate bass according to the Sweetwater write up-

Nine months. Not a bad run. Unfortunately, what I initially heard as aggressive grind was striking more and more as a can of bees. I began to question whether I really needed two dirt pedals on my board. This left me with that classic first world problem: what to do with the empty space. I was out for a walk when the idea hit me to put my old Nano POG back on there and see what kind of sounds I could get running the Mono Synth into it. So that's where I'm at for now.

So lately we've been practicing with the band without any amps. The guitarists using a HX Stomp and the Headrush Gigboard which I donated, me using the wonderous Torpedo Cab M+ with its Ampeg 8x10 IR and an emulated tube poweramp.
If you want to practice with headphones and use your own pedalboard, do check out the Two Notes CAB M+ it is a wonderous device!

After some great tips coming through this forum (thank you @Nightmaresandconclusions !) and debating the upcoming venue with our drummer we decided to NOT go ampless on small venues. If the stage is too small the people right in front of the stage would only hear a drumkit and not much else since the P.A. speakers are blowing over their heads and pretty much won't be heard.
For this reason we need the full mix coming from the small stage.

So I have been thinking which tones do I need for the covers we currently play. I need the best ballsy overdriven tone in the world for "Sugar, we're going down", "Black Chandelier" and "Lump". This tone I will also abuse "My Hero" with. For this I use the Le Bass with its tube overdrive "cold fusion" mode.
Then there's the creamy fuzz for "Sabotage" and over the top fuzz for "Song 2" (yeah I know everyone and their mom plays that song. I hate it). I could have gone for two fuzz pedals but the Royal Jelly handles both and more in a very nice way. The treble cut on there does work wonders.
Thus my board now looks like this: Just two pedals for tone, a compressor to give everything I do more punch and make me sit in the mix better in general plus of course a tuner pedal. Modest in number of pedals, not so modest in its range of tones and pricetag but so be it.

I have just tested the board both through the SVT-4 PRO + Barefaced and RH750 + 2x TE 2x8 rigs. Sounds great!
Then tested the tones through the D.I. output of the Le Bass with and without its built in speakersim. Let's leave that speakersim off - such rubbish!
If I need D.I. output with any IR I will simply bring the CAB M+ along.
 
I don't really understand the Tech21 hype. It's a good and solid pedal, but I don't really use the DI capability and the tones are.... decent?
That Royal Jelly looks very nice.

I'm also building a bigger board from other pedals i probably won't be using much, but that i've hoarded over the years... :D
