My Oh My Goat finally arrived. Been using the Eyemaster since 2017... want a new sound for 2025. So far so good.

When I get fed up, I get fed up (regarding cheap tuners mentioned in my last post)

And replacing the A 440 tuning fork misplaced at my parents' home since my last visit-

While a tuning fork isn't as convenient as a tuner (you have to mentally transpose to the 220 HZ harmonic on the fifth string at the fifth fret), you don't have to be concerned about dead batteries-

I got the Strobo Stomp mini last year and I don't see me ever using a regular tuner going forward, fantastic piece of kit.

Hey! Noob here! Long-time Music Man/Spector guy, just pulled the trigger on a Warwick Corvette fretless for something different. I figure the unlined neck will own me for awhile... and the weight?! Forgot to ask the seller, but looks like its solid bubinga body is definitely...robust.
Looks like it was made in '04 sometime during the Tour de France when Lance was still on top of the world.

The 6 octave keyboard version to be precise. 88 keys would not fit on my studio desk. I studied and tried the popular midrange priced workstations (Korg, Yamaha, Roland) Where Roland and Yamaha are generally more popular.
BUT: The Yamaha sounds very clinical and lifeless. Eventho most musicians state their piano sounds better I find it lifeless and synthy sounding. The Korg is dirtier and grittier with a heavy touch. I really dig that.
The Roland is very strong on the flexibility side of things but costs about 1.5x what the Korg does and I feel it isn't THAT much better.

Stuff arrives tuesday or wednesday.

Edit: Why not settle for a master keyboard and rely on plugins? Sometimes you just want to switch on the keyboard and just noodle away to come up with inspiring things. Having to boot up the computer and loading the DAW will lure my attention away from playing and have me fiddeling with tons of knobs instead.

Yamaha instruments are greatly underrated. Such good instruments - especially for the price.
