I just wonder how much of a favor Fender are doing themselves or not.
I have no emotional attachment to brands, only to some specific instruments.

Copying other people's work or plagiarism without recompense is a sore point with me, But I respect those such as HP Wilfer for being willing to pay when it was brought to their attention. Really love the fact that Kramer, when they took over Spector, forgave the licensing fee and that ultimately the Streamer design was altered enough so that Stuart Spector not longer had a claim when he regained control of the company. Regarding emotional attachment to brands, in recent times Warwick has been one of them. But that didn't stop me from purchasing a Spector Euro LX when I felt the itch for a reverse-P/J configuration-
 
I was pleased to see that the guitar, a 2024 model arrived in pristine condition though I did have to enlist a guitarist friend to show me how to change the stings back to the original 9-42 gauges. Apparently the original owner had changed the stings to tens and wanted to detune to C or D, ultimately deciding the wanted another style of guitar. I had no idea how the GOTOH Floyd Rose style tremor worked, where the fine tuners were and how to set the bridge saddles which were also a bit out of whack. There were no instructions other than how to set the friction for the tremolo bar retention and changing the overall bridge height with adjustable studs. So I thought the hex screws sticking out the back end of the bridge were the fined tuners the way the Steinberger guitar and bass bridges are. But it turned out they were the set screws to hold the strings in and one of them came loose. So you have to cut the ball ends off and stick the bare string in the bridge saddles. After changing the strings, we needed to adjust the tension on the tremolo springs in the body, because with the lighter gauge strings, they were pulling the tremolo backward. Steinberger Trems have a tension knob on the back of the guitar.

I guess the Floyd Rose style is so old that that form and function is considered common knowledge by now because I could not find any detailed manuals or tutorials. Fortunately my guitarist friendwas able to teach me how to go about it-

Other than the change of strings and leaning curve, I am very pleased with my purchase- I liked the semi-hard shell case which looked pristine as well-

A 2024 Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas P/J- previous owner had it Plek'd at Sweetwater, added a Hipshot X-tender, and threw in a hard case. Neither of which comes with a stock model and everything came at a price quite a bit cheaper than a new stock model-

Got an original pop/crossover country song in the works- and never liked the idea of dedicating a regular guitar to a high action and open tuning to play slide. Also that a lot of songs that had what sounded like slide guitar was actually a lap or pedal steel. Reference Dark Side of the Moon "Breathe" intro and "There's No Way Out of Here", among other songs David Gilmour used a lap steel on. Another would be "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Ryder.

So here you have it- was on sale at Musican's Friend for 134.99. A Rogue RLS-1 Lap Steel Guitar.

Did you know that Sammy Hagar played the lap steel for the motorcycle effect on “Bad Motor Scooter” on Ronnie Montrose’s first album in addition to singing vocals and that he played on his own solo albums as the Red Rocket?

I may look into that one- I'll check it out- For impromptu situations I had been using a Yamaha THR5, a guitar practice amp. An older model, it has a power adapter and holds AA batteries for situations away from household power. Just reading the specs on the Joyo, geared more as a bass amp and has Bluetooth. Wait- it comes with a footswitch! Sold!!

Got this for late-night impromptu stuff and maybe the coffee shop- this one also features the rechargeable lithium battery to play outside.

For me the guitar one works because of all the amp parameters (acoustic, blues, lead, metal, etc.) and effects (delay, flange, chorus, reverb, and more) and I can save up to two presets like overdriven or clean with effects that I can toggle with the foot pedal when playing guitar.

Besides I can also use it with my bass, given that both models share the same speaker arrangement-
