I'm a little lat seeing this post, but even if I'm to late to wish you good luck with the operation, here's hoping you have a flawless and speedy recovery!!!

Hey, thanks! The operation went well (I was so sound asleep, they said I was snoring during the procedure!) and I am home recovering. I still have a sleep study coming up and testing for anemia since my white cells were low, so it's not over, though the heart is fixed now.

Last night was our church's Easter presentation and I was able to come out and play my Thumb NT without any complications, so I am very happy and now that's out of the way, I can devote myself to rest and recovery. Of course that means I'll still be practicing on my Warwicks because that's just good therapy!

Hey, I know we were pretty much done with this post, but I've been reading posts of yours all over the forum and I was struck by how positive you seem to be ( other than having to put off the Streamer and Dolphin). With the attitude your showing your half way there to having this thing licked! Hang in there.

Thanks! I just got back from seeing my Oncologist and three of my cell counts are actually going in the wrong direction. I'm now scheduled for a bone marrow biopsy Thursday morning and two weeks later, the doctor should have the results. We hope it will show up negative, but if not, I may end up having leukemia or some similar blood disease... I'm still gonna keep playing my Warwicks and SWR Mo' Bass rig and keep a positive outlook. My immune system hasn't failed me yet, but only time will tell what's going on with those numbers that keep getting lower instead of recovering...

Just keep the prayers coming and I'm going to keep my two Thumbs up! 8)

On a lighter note how is that Mo'bass. Worth it? I've been really considering one lately.

I love mine. It has such organic sounding effects and a punch and kick that rules! It gives me MY sound and really lets the Thumb and $$ basses shine (and the others too)!

It has a lot of knobs and tweaking, but it's laid out very well. The tube compressor/limiter and the tube overdrive really stand out and even sounded better than the ones on a 750x I had before the Mo' Bass showed up.

I still have a distortion pedal and an E-H Q-Tron for my combo amp, but the effects in the Mo' Bass are better and by being self-contained, they are more portable and designed and optimized for the signal path. Here's a pic of my rig with my two favorite Warwicks:

This is a controversial, "love it or hate it" amp, but I also find those who knock it usually don't don't properly match it to good cabs or set the preamp volume properly, etc. Follow the manual and you will get it to sound like a giant! It is out of production since 2002, but there are still used ones and old stock to be found.

I love mine and highly recommend it if you like to use organic quality effects (especially good for funk and metal) with great SWR tone!

Over the last 2 weeks i had to buy me a pocket size Bible to bring at work so i have npo excuse not to read it on my breaks and lunch. i need that. bass talk is good but i need to also soak in before i can give. You know what i mean.

I actually have a full Bible and study library contained on my PocketPc that I carry with me everywhere I go. I always say I'm plugged into my Bible and I have to keep my Bible plugged in! :lol: It's actually been a conversation starter as well, so I get to keep up with my studies and share my faith.

As for the hospital, I've been out and back home since the 19th, but I can only get comfortable sleeping on the couch until the area where they inserted my pace maker (or as one guy called it, my "bass maker") heals.

At least my basses and rig are near by and with the time off work, I have some extra time to work with some of my bass lesson books and DVDs. There's positives in everything that comes along.

Ah yes, my favorite "fretless" Bible verse! And I've been really getting into my fretless Dirty Blonde Thumb the last couple of days.

BTW, since being out of the hospital, despite everything I'm going through, I've been able to play my bass for my church's Easter program and for the service and special choir music last Sunday, plus I've been to two music stores to buy a Genz-Benz Shuttle 3.0-10T combo amp and to buy a used SWR Goliath Jr. III cab for my Mo' Bass rig.

I'm still my same ol' crazy self, putting my "heart" into my passion and not letting a setback stop me from relieving some of my GAS!

Hospital stuff is never fun...

It's great though that you have a positive outlook on life... I found that having a positive outlook and having positive people around you has a huge effect on your health. Not to mention you have God on your side, and nothing beats that.

Once again, You got my prayers...


A little word of encouragement... In 2006 my wife was hospitalized with a brain abscess, The result was she lost use of her right hand/arm. She also had a stroke a few years before that and still doesn't have use of her left arm/hand. After about a week in the hospital she was sent home... Alot of praying, taking care of her and keeping her happy... She regain use of her right arm/hand and is back to her normal (as normal as she could get ) It was amazing how all this brought the family a bit closer along with how much the church helped out us.

Also, you may have noticed my post about the tendonitis... I injured my hand big time back when I was 10 and lost function of my left hand. After a couple of hours under the operating table and some microsurgery they managed to re-attach everything and about 6-8 months later I had use of my hand again.

I could really go on and on about either my injuries, or my wifes medical problems and how the Lord has watched over us this whole time and in the end everything worked out...

I believe though that whatever the outcome, You'll be fine and back to playing some bass.
