Green Streamer Project

I run my 5th with just the neck pup selected and Bass/Treble on full (no passive option on this bass) as the signal isn't strong with the EQ centred. For the longest time I've been considering swapping out the SD pups as they have the dip switches built in and they are just one thing too many for me to tinker with (sometimes I like one setting more than the others but if I had NO choice I'd be happier).

It does sound different to my Streamer Stage I (P pup solo) with the reversed (Fender)/normal(Warwick) P pup position BUT I have no idea if that is the pup config or the body/neck woods or even the thickness of the bass! :lol:

This bass could use a scratchplate IMHO to give it that punkrock look Flo!
 
Bass is still not here, I will have it in two days. I like it so far, but I agree that maybe black hardware would look better.

I will let you know when I have the bass in my hands :)
 
I actually don't think the gold looks too bad on the green. Looks like a combo that would be ordered original back in that basse's era.
 
OR maybe you can pull a Jens Ritter and paint the hardware the same finish as the bass!
 
Cool, i dig it! only thing i would do different is have the knowb closer together, ie go for a diagonal placemtn instead of the straight line. But nice work. You now have the worlds most aweosme p bass!
 
To me it is not important how the bass looks in the pictures, I focus on how the bass looks on stage, with stage lghts. I prefer shiny hardware for that reason, that's why black is almost never my option :)
We have brass frets, brass nut, they don't go well with chrome, si gold is pretty much the only shiny hardware that goes well with Warwick :)

Sooo,

Here is the bass :)




It is interesting that no matter what I do, It keeps the same fundamental sound.
I changed from active EMG. To passive Seymour Duncan quarterpound. I also switched the P pickup position to be like in Buzzard, or my XBASS. The J pickup is gone,mand so are the active electronics.

Sure, the sound is closer to my XBASS, still the same aggressive in your face character.

It is so light, I cannot believe it :) it feels like a feather! It is thick as my thumb, in the thickest part, haha.

So yes, I am very happy with my new bass, and probably it will become my main bass for Partizan.

Off-topic: I have one question: why not reverse pickup position? My new bass will have P pup and I've been contemplating the idea of P pup a lot. I've come to some sort of conclusion that reversed is the way to go for me but what is your reason to have the original position? Slap sounds deeper and pop snappier?

Simply because this position is the position found in Buzzard, and this is the pickup I am using for almost 5 years now, and I am very happy with it :)
I am more interested in how the E and A strings sound now, ant I like a phat sound :)

Ah alright. And now that I dug deeper I of course found out that you had answered my question in your 2nd post :d
