Green Streamer Project

I forgot how I asked, haha. i suppose naked Neck :) I will see soon.

Wow. just wow.

well I suppose it's your bass.... part of my is crying inside- not cos of the paint- that looks cool- but cos of the pickups I think. :)
By the way you know if you want Fender positioning for the P pup keep the D-G half in the same place and put the E-A half on the neck side. - warwick moved it back a bit- the back isn't far off a MM sweetspot- and hence the sound of the streamer P pup!

Out of interest how light is a light streamer? mine (a mid 1991 one) is under 3.5kg or so- that's pretty good right? next time before you cut up a super rare vintage warwick talk to me and cut up a non-rare one!

I switched the pickups to have the Warwick Buzzard P positioning, not the Fender one to be more specific. And if you leave the DG side on the spot and mobe the EA, it is not the Pbasss positioning. Right now it is a couple milimeters back from a Pbass, not a full pickup width.
Why should I talk to you before modding my own instrument? :) I think I know exactly why I wanted this bass, and I know exactly why I did the mods, so, just out of curiosity, what you could tell me that I don't already know?

really? my measurements must have been out, when I lined my P bass and streamer (1991) up side by side it looked as if the DG side was the same place and the EA one the other. I'll have to check again :)

No, you misunderstand, when I say you should talk to me, it was a tongue-in-cheek suggestion that my instrument would have been less rare for modding! mind you a 1991 is different construction, and if it is 2.9kg super super light! :o
I think your mods will be a pretty awesome. :)

I am not a Fender expert, maybe their pickup changed the position in time? It is possible I guess. The new ones I have around in my shop have pretty much the same position.

Anyway I can't wait to pllay the little green beast :)

just measured mine.... I wasn't entirely right.... If you keep the DG in the same place, and then switch the EA side.... and then move both sides back about 4-5mm - that's the fender P spot.
What's the finish in btw? it looks good. Keeping the same colour hardware?

Yes, I keep the same hardware, but I think I would like chrome more...
I don,t know what finish is this, I have to ask :) All I need is that it is green, it is enough for me, haha

I think the only time Fender moved pickup positions on its flagship models was when it moved the bridge pickup to be behind the cover in the 70s. It was moved back later. Fender really nailed it with the Jazz spacing - it's my favourite spacing, and it drives me nuts that most basses that aren't Fender-inspired just don't have it.

I believe these are the basses that have the spacing: Corvette, Neck/neck PU and Bridge/bridge PU coils of an $$ bass, Fortress 5-string, 2008 and 2010 LTD, and I believe the Infinity if you solo the bridge coil.

I think the SSII would be the best bass ever if it had the Fender locations. I know this is an easy custom shop option (custom shoption?) but I only pay bottom dollar for my basses gosh darnit!

As much as I love natural wood finishes, that is a really nice job! Looks beautiful. Interesting that you got rid of the J pickup, and that is a very flush conversion too. I love the simplicity of the look. Once you get it all finished you should post a video. :d

That looks great! Makes me wanna get an 88 Streamer and give it a pink refinish!

Lookin' great Flo 8:
With two pots removed the remaining two look miles apart.
Are you gonna string it EADG or BEAD?

Looks great! I still wish you had kept it OG but this is the most unique paddle head ever!

Well, it was no use to me as it was, except selling it, and I love this thin little bass...
