2011 product catalog!

So... where the hell is the Artist Series made? It's its own section - is this made in China or Korea? The way these pictures looked, it appears to be an actual part of the RockBass line (i.e. truss rod cover).

And is the Bootsy NT? It's the same price as the other sigs. It clearly isn't bolt-on - so what is it? And I assume the body is solid as well, with painted on F-holes.
 
Artist series is made in Korea, and is not part of the Rockbass line.

;)

It could be considered on - par with the Pro series I guess.

I think that's a photoshop error with the Bootsy - the spec clearly says it is bolt-on, and that is much more likely at this price (and since there are no other NT Warwicks from Korea). I don't know about the body but I guess you're right - it's likely to be solid.
 
Are PRO LX and Thumb concave like their German cousins? They look rather flat on catalog pages.
 
i think the artist series is part of the pro line, its in teh pro line price list, just guessing tho
 
i dont think anyone will know till we see some pics, but im guessing they wont be flat since they will be 1,500+, but im just guessing.
 
I reckon they will be curved, but I could be wrong. To me it would be logical to offer a bass with all its features, even if it's made in Korea.
 
I'm digging the new Pro and Artist series stuff - as long as the Pro series NEVER fully replaces another instrument.

And I wonder, why the switch to maple necks when the Korean plant makes Ovangkol necks?
 
im guessing the maple is one of the things that brings the price down to a pro line level. along with alder bodys. not sure if i like the combo tho. that would be one bright sounding bass. not sure if having all those bright sounding woods would be a good thing. but some of you would prob know better than me. brighter sound instruments might work better for basses. but as a guitar player having some warmer woods mixed in does better. any thoughts?

To me, the PS Thumb seems to have the arched body :

Fender kinda started the whole Alder body/Maple neck thing, and nobody ever accused Fender of being too bright!

And FWIW, my Streamer $$ has a concave back but a belly cut as well - inconclusive.
 
I just can't wait to get my hands on them.....hope guitar center stocks a few of these new models cause lord knows they stopped carrying the high end stuff (ssII and such) a year or so ago.
 
Thumb bo bubinga comes with just-a-nut III brass..... cool
 
If they are flat, that would be an extra great move from Warwick haha!!!

Let me explain, before killing me :-)

I used to wear my bass very low. The concave back is great for guys that wear the bass high, but I rather prefer a flat back. It is cool to have two basses of the same quality, and to be able to chose : flat back vs concave.

so this might be the rationale for the Trujillo signature having a flat back:-)
