Transforming an Rockbass Corvette 5 into ............ ?

last job for today:

STAINING

first one layer Yellow,
this layer is for translucent effects under the second layer

next 2 layers was brown, hope that after oiling the result will be an brown with an golden effect

now waiting for drying over Night and tomorrow first coat of OIL :D

job-Update from today:

first oil coat (very deep)
must wait until tomorrow until it cures for continuing..now i must be patience...lol....can't wait for finishing, but must wait to get a good result..hahahahahahaha

For me it is unbelievable that this beautyful wood was hidden under a thick poly clear coat.
And even the fact, that that is Swamp-Ash and not Alder like the common Vettes from Rockbass... a mistake from the factory??? i don't know

now i'am sure, that my wood color will harmonize and match very well with GOOOOOLD-Hardware ;)

I say, let the beautiful wood be seen. So great that you removed the poly coat, delishus ash grain under it. Gold will look killer on it. Thank you for posting this thread, it is as much a learning experience as a visual delight.
 
Update:

today only text things :)

The body was coated/oiled the last time today and now it must cure until Monday.
Because Thomann no has delivered today, i can't finish the Neck, because of missing Brassnut, so even wait until Monday.
Waiting for the golden Bridge Screws, that Warwick has forgotten to send it, hope that will come Monday too.
So Monday will be the big assembly day (if all missing Parts arrive Monday) and Thursday Photo-Shooting Time for you all :)

Can't wait for see her completly done and hear her.........
