The Heads Up Thread

And that Streamer is now sold. not before she posted this picture though..what a superb piece of wenge!

Not a surprise... smokin' deal for that. And yeah....that fretboard is absolutely insane.

And I do think as Henry does...that HPW is telling her it was repaired nearly 30 years ago and is expressing excitement that it "still holds....amazing!". It looks as though that email was after Warwick had already recieved and inspected the bass....as he is talking about other specifics....battery compartment, electronics etc.

Could certainly be wrong though, as the crack & repair would have had to happen when it was nearly new.

He writes that he is sure that he (HPW) did this repair himself and he wonders that it still holds tight! Yes, this bass has mojo!

Thanks for the conformation. Very cool. I wonder if the new owner knows this, or cares. Big time mojo!!

Wow a lot of work has gone into that ruination!

Looks like the neck has had pieces added to widen it too?

Been out of action for a while been traveling New Zealand! Happy new year everyone :)

Got some quick wifi and stumbled across this !! Hahahah

At least he isnt trying to pass it off as a Warwick lol

What's with the vloute?!? Looks really low

Holy shit that's pretty nice! Looks well built too. I'd snap that up!

This is not a heads up for price....but it is a heads up for some Thumb porn. This '90 6'er is nearly mint. Looks like it rolled out of the factory yesterday. Wow.

nice

my Feb 90 Thumb 6 has still Schaller tuners and the old compartment cover
my May 90 Streamer has already gotohs but still the old compartment cover.
So I'd say late 1990

That melting looking dolphin copy's volute looks ridiculous. But it does look fairly well made, credit given.

but I wouldn't ever buy something with specs listed as "hard wood" haha.

That's cool. Yeah, at first when I saw the compartment cover and tuners, I thought it wasn't right for a '90...but after some Googling, I realized it must have been a transition year.

I didn't know there were at least 3 different official combinations in one year alone?! Wow.

Thanks for the info and confirmation!!
