The Heads Up Thread

I know it's not a Warwick but there's some cheap stuff for someone in need of a Jazz.

Damn 38.5mm neck. I need to buy à 500€ Status P-neck for this one. Ridiculous.

Should we expect to see this a lot more ? People thinking all pro series now mean made in Germany

Oh man...what a scam. Someone who has no clue is going to buy the "dream bass" for their partner or something.

Ovangkal neck he says.... hmmm...albino ovangkal? Whatever. Just words....and details. Who cares.

One of these Korean made maple neck BO's was on Reverb a while ago for $1000. Still silly, but a little more realistic.

Unfortunately, there is a bunch of price gouging, full blown trying to cheat people going on, all over the place. Just look at one seller on Amazon; SKY-LINE. Either they got scammed and are trying to pass the pain of a horrible sale onto an unsuspecting customer, or they are simply pure evil.

Or both.

$8000+ Ummm, no.

We've all seen this ridiculously amazing custom shop beauty....but $10,300 ummm, no.

Even the official Warwick shop in Nashville is guilty. These are amazing...but again...$9000 (+35 shipping lol) is a joke.

Hey guys, let´s stay serious. The CV is aged. AGED, DO YOU UNDERSTAND??? Be happy you can have it for such a fair price!

...ääänd I just realized it is the bass we see in the advertisement banner of this forum. So now get it!!!

Aged you say?? In that case... Sold!

Ohhh wait... $35 shipping... Forget it. I have a strict 9k budget. Damn.

Here is a heads up...I desperately wish I could grab. Mind you...not a heads up for price ($2400), but a heads up because I think it's the only one for sale in the world right now.

An '85 JD Thumb in Japan. Amazing condition, except the previous owner(s) had a steak knife for a belt buckle.

Not really. A guy here in Germany desperately tries to sell his JD made in 1985 for 1.450,- EUR, no offers on this one. He hunted it for 850,- EUR or so on Willhaben.at but only tries to make a profit.

Gotcha... so two available in the world right now ;)

Hmmm. 1450 is still an amazing price for a piece of history. If he got it for 850...I don't blame him for trying to instantly make a profit. I'm shocked that it's still for sale. If I had 4k...I'd buy both. No joke.

Hardy...buy it for me please. I'll pick it up at Bass Camp 2017 from ya ;)

And please, please tell him to change his avatar.... good lord.

There's quite a few JDs around, sellers price them up to keep them

Quite a few? Other than the two above...where are there more for sale?

$2000 is 100% fair price for the holy grail of Thumbs. $1450 is a fantastic price. $850 is someone not knowing what they're selling, or totally desperate. The one that I think Chris bought, in the link above was also a steal at $1200.

I'm totally ok with the price being kept up on these beauties. They are worth it.
