My Thumb LTD 2001 was flooded:-(

Due to unbelievable flooding in New York, my Thumb 2001 LTD was underwater for about one day :-(

When I rescued it, it was covered with mud, debris, you name it. I cleaned it with dry rags. I'll let it dry for some time. I assume all the electronic components are dead.

If this bass does come to life again, I'll name it Pheonix. I really need some mojo.
 
My deepest condolences go out to ya mate,I hope the bass pulls up ok.Keep us posted eh.
 
Luckily, electronics can be replaced. Resurrect the dead, mate!

How does the body and neck look? Pictures?
 
I think this is the worst thing that can happen a bass, sorry dude.
But, let it dry, dry and dry again.
Take out the battery.
Put some pics.
Hope the wood doesen't move very much :roll:

Warm environment (not hot) with good air flow and avoid direct sun light.

When your bass revives tell your story to the CS perhaps they could make you some trussrod covers with "The phoenix" inscribed.

Your bass is now on my daily prayings ;)
 
Well i guess I can stop complaining. The flood left us with no heat or hot water for a few days now but my Warwicks were first on the ark so at least there's that. Worst rain I've ever seen and I was hoping there would be no human/Warwick casualties. I hope she pulls through.

ohh, thats bad...but really, its only a bass, there are things that are worse than that.

Thank you, guys. My guess is that if the neck is fine, the bass will be fine. Having said that, the neck feels fine and the relief tht I set still remains the same. I waxed it right before the storm hit us. So, I hope not much water penetrated the wood. I'll post pics when I regain my sanity.

Gentlemen,

I fired up my flooded Thumb and UNBELIEVABLY it is working!

Both pickups work and the active EQ works! WOW. I hear minor crackling noise when turning knobs but a Radio Shack cleaner should take care of that.

I can't believe my Thumb is still working. This story should be officially posted on Warwick's homepage. I'm not sure if a tank could survive what my Thumb went through. Submerged in muddy flood water for one day and came back to life? Unbelievable!
