Interseting corvette on Ebay... Legit?

Interesting layout... what do you make of this?
The Wenge line in the middle of the body is certainly... Interesting...
 
I think it's legit mate. Lots of pics on the US site. Sure looks like a real vette to me. Course I'm wrong, a lot.
 
FWIW I don't like the way that the tailpiece isn't recessed sufficiently, looks iffy!

It still looks a tidy piece of work but surely this would need to be a 'W' CS and it should be easy to verify that... yes?

maybe the body was made by a skilled luthier, with the corvette body shape and a warwick neck ?!

i don't like the look, but i bet it sounds good...
 
I agree with warwickhunt, the tailpiece seems too high..but the rest looks fully legit.
 
i saw this too, don't really like the way the maple cap doesn't quite cover the whole top. Does look legit to me though
 
I saw this a couple days ago and fell in LOVE.

I think this thing is gorgeous!

I think the same thing, based on the way the
woods have come together... I don't think you
can get an center stripe can you? The other
reason I have, is look at the forearm cut, the
Wenge thickens here, I would think that Warwick
CS would factor this into the pre-construction,
and want to use a thickness of Wenge that would
match the sides as opposed to get wider. (Or at
least cut at an angle to to eliminate this illusion.)

REGARDLESS, I think it's a fine body (Aside from the
quality of Maple on top, it looks a bit, odd.) and I'm
sure it sounds KILLER with those Bartolini pickups!

Yeah, the strip down the middle is not something Warwick does often, the tail piece is sticking up a lot further than a normal Warwick. And the body laminates are not something Warwick has ever done that i know of. The neck looks legit though.

You need to get the serial off the neck and cross reference it with Warwick to see what it is.
 
Man don't think it's a real W but it looks nice do. I like the center lamination a lot. And by the way the Wenge stripe at the forearm cut it's not getting thicker it's an optical ilusion because of the cut that was being made at a certain angle ( i think ;) )
 
If you get a different top on the Corvette, it will be 1" thick and either there is no forearm cut or you just wouldn't see the other wood. I can't quite remember which one.

To me it looks like someone took an ash bodied vette and put a nice new pretty top on it. I like it a lot.

Hence why I mentioned the "illusion." ;)
 
I think Its a beauty, good luck. There are 6 pics on the US Ebay site and a serial number. That should make it easy enuff to check on.

Is the serial number correct for a custom shop Bass and where would you find info on serial numbers? I looked thru the custom Gallery and it doesnt show up there. I tried to get a Custom Thumb with the center stripe to match my Streamette and they wouldnt do it so this one is probably not an original Warwick. I thought it was interesting but not being sure about it I didnt put in much of a bid. Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow night.
