Incoming!!! (show Us Your New Stuff Before You Actually Have It)

By the looks Hardy's doesn't have the treble pickup cover so he can palm or finger mute while playing which is helpful.
Me I have no trouble with that pickup cover and kinda miss one on my five string Ric. I might grab the one from my Fender Marcus Miller 5 and screw it onto the then Rickenstein.
Wasn't the cover on the 4003 designed to emulate the horseshoe pickup on earlier models? In a Chris Squire demo you see him fingering between the treble pickup and the bridge. I one saw a video showing someone removing the treble pickup cover from their 4003 and I thought "You've got to be kidding"- all that trouble? So, I've left mine intact-

Yeah I actually like having the cover over the bridge pickup. On my Marcus Miller signature it covers the neck pickup which is well annoying. So I lifted it from that bass and threw it on the Ric bridge pup instead. Players who hate the Ric's pickup cover can't adequately dampen strings with their left hand so that's a skill issue not a bad bass.

I have a Ric and took the cover off the bridge pickup because it's right where I like to pick. Fingerstyle it doesn't bother me so much, but the instrument's role in my collection is hard rock, and I prefer a pick for those tones.

Which Marcus Miller do you have?

For real time parameter changes in Logic Pro via IK Multimedia’s AXE I/O interface- a companion to my Moog expression pedal that can operate Logic wah and other pedals-

Ok

The original Marcus Miller's Fender Jazz was pimped by Roder Sadowsky  The story behind Marcus Miller's 1977 Fender Jazz Bass | Guitar World The story behind Marcus Miller's 1977 Fender Jazz Bass

What you would likely by now is the Japanese model
I think the 4's were Japan made (and/or Mexico)
and the 5's made in USA

I've yet to play a Fender 5 I like, but would be keen for a try on a MM5 ( or a Victor Bailey)

By this what I've got my Moog expression pedal plugged into (two jacks for expression pedals on the back)- currently using it to work a Logic Pro X pedalboard was in real time while recording. The new double switch pedal I can use to turn things on and on in the same environment- Nice things about the AXE I/O is that it's tailored for guitar or bass with different options including active/passive instruments, tone shaping, etc. There's a separate amp out if you want to play through a favorite amp while recording, and there are two XLR inputs and monitor output jacks on the back.

For some reason- the webpage won't load my jpeg- and tried as small as 1.5 MB and I keep getting an error message saying it's too big-

So I'll try this-

What is your Moog pedal James?

MP-201?
I don't know, there are no part numbers or labels- bought it back in around 2010- it's just a parameter changer with no built in effects-

Would upload a pic but the forum keeps saying my files are oversized, even at 1.2 mb-

I’m not sure what photos will attach

Did my Jean Pierre notation upload for you James? It’s a snappy groove

Yes it did- been a long time since I've done any sight reading, but Ii'll give it a try. Is it in D major or are the F and C sharps incidental? Thank you by the way-
