I already had paid! But through Reverb, using PayPal. That a***ole RETURNED the payment and wrote some bullshit that Reverb would have problems with their payment system and they would contact me. Next thing was an SMS with a link to a phishing site to enter my IBAN. Yes ofc, IBAN my ass! I suggest to pick up the bass, no more answers from the seller. Next thing was that he reposted the same add again.
There has been a big increase in scammers on Reverb recently. If the price is low and the seller has a recently created account, it's probably a scam. As long as you use Paypal or Reverb's payment system, you should be ok, but it is still a royal bite in the posterior.

after about 30 years using a set of nice Advents, finally bought some new home stereo speakers, some Bowers and Wilkins 603. Should have em tomorrow. Very excited.

So it has arrived- I really dig it. Doesn’t look half bad, even with the finish gone-

Talked to a guitar re-finisher and am making preparations to get her repainted in Alpine White with drop-in replacement gold hardware (Schaller BM tuning machines, and I believe their 3D-4 bridge).

The case, on the other hand, looks like hell on the outside-

After much deliberation I've finally sourced my perfect cabinet to round out my setup (Thumb 6, Ampeg SVT-7 Pro).

The mighty Mesa Standard Powerhouse 412.

Just have to work out when I can make the 14 hour round trip to go pick it up!

From MJS Custom Pickups out of Ontario, Canada. Under this cover will be a variation of their P90 adapted for bass, in such case is dubbed the "Big Single". They are in the process of being custom wound by Mike "Smitty" Smyth with pole pieces set to accommodate the string spacing in the 1985 Explorer bass. The gold covers shouldl set well with the upcoming Alpine White paint job.

Sonically they should be reminiscent of a Jazz with a bit of Gibson oomph.... according to what Smitty tells me. I trust him, giving that MJS supplied the P90's for the Gibson Tony Iommi "Monkey" SG.

In case this has piqued someone's interest, here is their website - MJS Custom Handwound Guitar and Bass Pickups – Handwound Custom Guitar & Bass Pickups
