It is really a kind of new class of instrument, call it half-bass if you will :) The idea is that a bass with tones from the 12th fret and up can be fun, interesting and inspiring to play, not to mention an excellent travel instrument. I believe they were first "popularized" by Wing Instruments: Wing Instruments

Mine is made by a Polilsh builder, in just a months time, and now it is on its way to me! Got finished pictures the other day:

Now this is a bit philosophical (kinda ying&yang):
With some regret, I sold my '91 Streamer I. I pointed the guy to join the forum, and he bought an '85 thumb advertised here; and now he's selling my/himself '91 Streamer I (I'm OK with that). But then I may have a '88 Streamer I coming in. Is this a sign from heaven? Hope it will come soon!!!:D and maybe Stuart Zender would have liked an '88 too

So this morning I bought an '88 Streamer I with a Bartolini configuration l from the first owner. Not sure if the body is anegre or maple. Have sent a case today, bass should come then in the next 2 weeks.

To what I read here only from '84-'85 Streamers are cherry (Spector headstock); '86 was a transition where anegre was used, and as of '88 maple was used. Of course is difficult to tell the wood from the photo, but the other used Streamer '89 and '91 are much lighter.
I'll post in =The Streamer Club= once arrived.
