Yes, i really like this feature on my other black Fortress aswell. That is a nice thing from 1993, which wasn't done later.

The bass finally arrived last week. Sounds very very nice! But it has some serious problems. First of all the intonation is bad. At the 12th fret it’s out of tune a quarter tone. A big issue. Also all edges are razor sharp. I installed an armrest to make it playable. This bass will not stay. It’s from 2011, my fretted Ortega from 2016 is from another planet. Most comfortable with built in armrest. Too bad they don‘t offer that one fretless.

Oh, sorry to hear the bass is not up to you’re expectations, poor intonation is unacceptable. Hopefully you will another soon. If there is a KTSM 5FL available I may just get one

Maybe the dots are placed where they would be on a fretted bass, in between frets so to speak?
The ones on my fretless are exactly where the fret would normally be.

This could be the reason. I didn’t think of this because the 12th fret would run directly through the „XII“ inlay. On a fretted bass it sits between the frets ofc. I can try to train it and play with the bass, but my other fretless basses have the side dots in different positions. It’s difficult for me to hear the right tone to judge if I‘m playing correctly. I need a clear starting point when I play on a fretless. The next fretless acoustic I will check before buying.

I installed this arm rest btw. Now I can play it without risking to open my veins by accident.

Wow, great find Hardy, thanks. I'll contact the seller and see if I can persuade him to ship to UK.

Sold my Alpha-Omega some time ago. Now needing that tone again. Oh well.

Went for the smaller footprint this time, I do not like the EQ's on DG pedals much and already have the Le Bass pre handling tone enlargement =) Just doing overdrive is all I need from this pedal.

I am so sorry guys. Here's another one. This is a B:assmaster clone with improved low end response.
MCA used it in the Beastie Boys on tracks like Sabotage. I really needed one of these.

Got an e-mail the Black Cat is no longer available and won't be for some time (Coronacrisis).
After a little discussing with the owner of the online shop who is a great guy I decided to upgrade the order to this:

    Simpli_bass.jpg

Because why the hell not. It has the DSM omnicabsim built in and has the pre section controls of an Ampeg.
Two effect loops, one through the preamp being full range, the parallel one having only the low end.

So now I will have three different preamps, the Two Notes Le Bass and Trace Elliot Transit-B being the others.
Guess I like to have options. The TE has no cab sim, the Le Bass only a very simple one that doesn't sound great.
This new baby is all analog and lets me choose between three different OmnicabSim models.

The Octave fuzz is back on the wishlist but will have to wait.

Polish mail company said 10 days delivery time, now their app jumped to an ETA of june 4-10 for my bass. :-(

Meanwhile I keep watching this video. Mine has the tone of the white (same fb and pu placement, but 34"), and the finish of the red.

It can be a pain sometimes, but always rewarding in the end if it works out.
