As much as I respect free speech, I must say that such a post offends me! Both wars cost millions of lives. And the holocaust wasn't a display of "balls" as much as it was one of the blackest marks on mankind... I'm sorry if you meant this as a joke, but I think my grandfather (may he rest in peace) didn't find it funny when he fought the Germans.

now this is funny: one of the EBM moderators checked the linkback of that post to see where/why it had been linked, and he has "warned me" about playing nice ion one place and talking trash in another place. Frankly, I dont see my post HERE or any of my replies as talking trash about a brand or anything. If ANYTHING AT ALL, its an indictment of ONE persons argument, not of a brand or the people who are loyal followers.

Im having a tough time understanding why this is so hard for people to understand. It just doesnt make sense to me.

The more alarming part is that a person threatened me on the forum a ways back, and NO ACTION WAS TAKEN. That person still posts freely, and yet all I do is post about why a persons viewpoint is a little skewed, and IM THE ENEMY.

Makes me think of the Canadien of Montreal here in Quebec. If you talk shit about em, it's almost like people were ready to beat you to death for that. Pretty ignorant.

This whole forum crew seems to think of EBMM as a dogmatic entity in the bass industry, which is kinda lame. Close-minded people always end up doing silly things for their point of view.

It was!!! but now, instead of selling them, Im keeping them. they are great instruments, but I will ever support that company again.

I don't like EBMMs a bit. When I first saw their Bongo I thought it was the ugliest bass I've ever seen. And basically, I don't like Hi-gloss finishes at all. Ever since I found warwick I've loved the grain and Warwick bodies.
Fender, EBMM and tons of other brands have 95% of their basses hi-glossed. Looks unnatural, looks like a piece of hard plastic, with a wood coulored neck, some hardware and 4-12 strings attached to it.
My Squier Bullet Bass wich I had for many years, had a orange hi-gloss finish, and with the pickboard...
I liked the "freaky" coulor, but I never really liked the Fender body to much, and the neck feels very unnatural. So when I saw a warwick for the first time, I just stood there for several minutes, just watching it, breathtakingly beautiful, what a bass!
All EBMMs, exept one has higlossfinishes. But the one who has grained wood, has a pickboard, I don't like pickboards :P
So I'm gonna sum it up, first impressions of:
EBMM Bongo: Eww! Ugliest bass I've ever seen!
Warwick Corvette std.: Wow!
 
let's make war! :D i never saw an EBMM Fender bass that Warwick can't make, but they can't make any Warwick ever, because they simply can't.

if they could they didn't made that toilet cover. when u start an instrument design u have the hole universe of immagination to create and to choose if u have brain for elegancy, uniqueness, quality of touching, visual quality, etc.

redesign isn't creation nor art! :wink:
 
I won't stop liking Stingrays because of the forum. I even like the HH but they will never know it! Besides, I'd rather share my lust for the SS2 with you guys here and gain knowledge about bass in general. :wink:
 
It's kind of a shame though. I love EBMM Stingrays and SUBs, but I have no desire to join their forum. I also think 1 is enough in that case, and my SUB does not have a hogh gloss finish. And I think some of the nicest guitars and basses I've ever seen have glossy coats. My Ric and 2 Epiphones are gorgeous.

Though the only brand that makes me yearn for more is Warwick. I'd love an RB Vampyre. And an SS2. And a Dolphin Pro 1 CS in plain maple, ovangkol/purpleheart neck, whiteburst. And a Buzzard LTD in red.

Man I gotta get saving.

See this post has gone the way BA was trying it not to in the other forum. why bash another company for making a Bass you don't get . I for one don't really like the EB but I don't like Fender and alot of other brands but is that not what makes who we are... freedom of choice. I have been playing bass for a long time and there has never been so many brands to chose from some unique and some just a copy of the orginal basses (Fender and Gibson).

What does it matter to us if the EB forum is loyal to EB. We here are pretty loyal also. That is why we play what WE play. We need to be more mature about things and not stoop to brand bashing.

agreed, and that was the point I was trying to make to them, but they dont seem to understand that. I feel I have been MORE than civil over there and have gotten nothing but attacks like I had just hooked up with someones wife.

most people here aren't bashing EBMM itself. We are bashing the fact that the guys on the other forum are very close minded and can't accept some reality such as there are other brands in the world than EBMM. We've been able to do this on this forum, people can say freely that they love their fenders or any other brand than warwick and they won't get flamed, and that's great.
