wow, talk about making a blanket statement without knowing a DAMNED thing about Warwick basses. Of cvourse, you realize that when I set him straight (Im bass addict on EBMM forums, btw) I am going to get a new one torn, LOL.

EIther way, I dont care, but I will say this, EBMM is not nearly as innovative as warwick! I can hear EBMM R and D going "oohhh lets jam a block of mahogany in the bass for tone!" whereas Warwick would say, lets make a whole bass out of this combo of wood and let the sound speak for itself.

Here is the link:

you posted a very polite answer.

I should take that in note cause I usually get angry very fast when it comes to basses and ignorant people. Weird, because I'm normally very peaceful.

thanks flipper!

Im not usually so nice over there since the general population seems REALLY ignorant about anything outside of Musicman instruments.

One dude told me that he used to work for the US govt, and would find my address and come to my house if I didnt stop posting. A little phone call to the Massachusetts State Police cleared it right up. I couldve pressed charges, and ifI had, the guy wouldve been in for serious problems. I opted for them to jsut warn him about his actions, since Im so nice and all

Wow... Nothing is more mature than threatening people for not agreeing with you
I like the statement that "...BP and EBMM are remarkably cutting edge for being in a conservative industry". How? They basically have one bass! Imagine Warwick only making the Thumb NT with slight variations on that! Of course they would have to make a bongo'esque bass that looks like something from the bathroom

Great reply dude. I think, though that you're writing to a deaf, dumb and blind audience. If EBMM fans can say ANY other company isn't innovative you've got to realize they have no capacity for independent thought. And I have a SUB, which is essentially a Stingray (minus the glitz) as are all of their basses, variations on the Stingray. Which was at least partially designed by Leo Fender, who stated he was after the ultimate P-Bass (can't remember where I read that, I looked into MusicMan basses when I got the SUB, but that was almost 3 years ago). Yep, real innovative there mate. A company who's line consists entirely of variations of a Fender P-bass variant.

The moderators need to control the people of the forum better... wait the mods need to be controlled too! :P

I was reading that forum a lot when I was waiting for the Sterling that I ordered but I soon realized that they all just live in an EBMM-only haze over there. They all suck up to Sterling and the company so much that it makes me sick. Often if someone makes any kind of even slightly negative post, they run him right out of town (so to speak).

I also found it funny that since there is so few models in their bass lineup, every time a new color is released as a limited edition, they all think it is the hottest thing going no matter whether it looks good or not. There was recently a new sparkle brown color they posted which will be released soon and it looks like garbage but they all go absolutely crazy for it anyway.

It's great that in this forum, people can say things like "I don't like the looks of this year's LE at all, wood pickup covers are awful" and not get gang beaten and booted. I think Sterling has much to learn about being professional as well as he is often getting into verbal brawls with forum members simply because he doesn't take criticism well. Sorry for the rant. That forum has been bothering me for a while...

you know what?
it's plain simple

Germans have more balls than anyone else on the planet

Why?
They tried to conquered the world...TWICE that takes some serious balls for a country that small to try to do this. So it maybe in the genes that these balls got transmitted to Hans Peter to make him create such beauty like the thumb or dolphin and to add 4 models per year.
As much as I respect free speech, I must say that such a post offends me! Both wars cost millions of lives. And the holocaust wasn't a display of "balls" as much as it was one of the blackest marks on mankind... I'm sorry if you meant this as a joke, but I think my grandfather (may he rest in peace) didn't find it funny when he fought the Germans.
And I'm sure that Hans Peter would prefer not to be compared with Hitler!

When I hear people bashing every bass but the one they like I feel sad for them.Sure there are some designs I don't like but I don't tell people there choice stinks, cuz I'm sure some of the stuff I like someone else doesn't.This topic reminds me of my brother in laws nephew,he only likes Chevy trucks and all others are junk.He told me my GMC wasn't as good as a chevy even though that model year they were the same except for the grille and badging.By the way Warwick's rule and all other bass's are fancy firewood

Tell you what: Many many years ago I tried some Warwicks and I really didn't like their tone. It was just individual taste and so I didn't think about Warwick basses any more for at least 20 years.

Just recently I realized that there was this $$ Corvette with these big humbuckers and the versatile tone controls. What a great concept! Luckily, I was open-minded enough to check out this bass even though it was a Warwick.

Before I actually bought the bass I vistited this forum and I thought to myself: So many great people can't be wrong.

no offence man, it was meant to be a joke in a very sarcastic way, and didn't figure out people would get offended. Sorry, I'll delete the post now.

dude,

in case you should ever be on holiday in germany:
you should not make such "jokes" to loud because we react very sensitive and don´t think it´s funny at all. were not proud at our history.

sorry man

Beda, I hear you! Right said!

But I'm really proud, that the German government had the balls to kick Bush's ass and refused to engage in the Iraq invasion (as the British, the Australian, the Italian and other governments did, even though their people disagreed).

Nuff said, back to bass!

You're still arguing with the EBMM people Graham?
It is good for a laugh thouhg mate.

Maybe we should have a daily "wind up EBMM" post on their forum...

JOKES!

Although Greg is seriously thinging about it right about now...

None taken man! As we've discussed before, it's practically impossible to see sarcasm online...
