French ash top on streamer or corvette?????

French ash top on streamer or corvette... is it possible?
how does it look like??? 8)
 
I can't imagine why it wouldn't be possible.

I bet it would look pretty cool, especially if you got a nice "flamed" cut. It would probably look sweet with a colored stain as well...

French ash has a strong grain; you can really get the idea by looking at the sandblasted finishes on the Dark Lord and Taranis basses... although I'm going to assume you would not have your CS bass sandblasted... ;)

Uhhhh,

why not ?? Or at least sandblast the French Ash only............ :?
 
Not that its an option I'd personally consider, but are sandblasted finishes offered on other woods as well?

Morbid curiosity is making me wanna see a Thumb NT or SS2 sandblasted :D

So far I think not,

I think that it's only interesting on Ash, since there is a distinct difference in hardness between the grained and non grained part. This will create the 3D effect by sandblasting Ash............ :roll:

I can't answer your question as a yes or no. But the sandblasting on the Taranis and the Vampyre take advantage of the hard then soft wood characteristics of swamp ash and french ash. It has little more than a regular sanding effect on the ovangkol back of the Vampyre. So I suspect it wouldn't do much for a hard wood like bubinga...
