hey i have an idea:
picture this:...a bass with 2 MM style pickups or dual coil...with 3 band of EQ.

the MM style humbucker ,can be wired in series,parallel,and single coil.
plus you got the 3 band eq'' low,mid,hi''

ok now to the point...
you can do this with the bridge humbucker:
1: wire it single coil add a potenciometer with center detend(blend) for a parallel( when both coils are select with the blend),and when the potenciometer is pointing to the neck ,wired as single coil, its like an music man bass with just one humbucker ...volumen pickup selector and 3 band of EQ...

2:you can do the same thing with the neck humbucker,use the same wiring, and add another preamp with 3 band of EQ...

3: when you combine both humbucker ( neck and bridge) you would have a full choice of sounds and 6 band of EQ ... and it would be greater to have the neck pickup wired to another jack input...
so it would be a stereo bass right?

hey , im thinking of getting a 3 band eq pre amp , for my corvette double buck , those anyone had experimented with that kind of thing?

just in case anyone is interested, in my corvette double buck ,I inverted the coils, when in single coil mode,I know have the front coil of the bridge pickup and the rear coil of the neck pickup and when is mix together I get an unique sweet sound, and its totally easy to do ,just invert white and green wires of each pickup, but be sure to make a good looking soldering, remeber its a WarWick bass!!!

this is my mod bass, its a Brice bass neckthru, ash wood , canadian maple and rose wood, an MM pickup in the neck wired to an seperate jack,
and two emg one j and the other DC, passive tone, the idea for the mm pickup its to boost more low end ,when using at the same time the active emg in the bridge position, its really gets powerfull , a great bass for funk style players...

Wow that setup is crazy!

I was thinking of messing with the coil taps on my $$, but i wanted a blend pot and coil taps for each pup. The 2 eq thing is kinda crazy, i'd settle for a vol/tone deal myself. Might take a looky at my $$ and see what i can pull out!

Yeh! I'll use my uni department to help me plan it i think they may have some space saving ideas, i think i'll just be wire space + i could strip the EQ to add more space and go complete passive.

thanks man , hope you enjoyed, well i guest if you get stacked vol and balance and bass treble ,and drill some extra holes you can do your destination for your bass, I change the coils because in the bridge single coil I wanted a more body ,a deeper sound, and for the neck single coil im looking for a P bass sound, when you combined both,it really sounds sweet, take a look to the wires on the picture I posted, try it on yours!!!

Stacked vol/tone vol/tone for each pup, 1 blend for each pup, + switches will mean i won't need to drill holes or vol/blend and tone controls separate. I'll whip out my soldering iron at the w/e and go to town on my $$ switching the coils, then depending on the cost of the new pots/knobs, a quick talk with gregory from the CS shop, and i may just do it! Its great to get input from other people who have tried this!

Almost definitelywill do at somepoint, it ran our of batteries about 4 months ago i've never put new ones in it. When i did use it was to boost the bass which i can do on my amp anyway so it became redundant. Its just a matter of when i get some time and some cash to do it.
