Hey Ollie, maybe you can answer a question for me: "on the thumb 5 string, why do they angle the neck pickup and have it so far back compared to the pickup layout on the 4 string? I assume it is to keep the B string tighter, but is there any particular reason for it?

Any development on this front Ollie? What I'd really love would be one big piece of ebony to cover both my humbuckers and serve as a sort of ramp at the same time.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but, I’m experimenting with different pickups on my 4-string Bubinga 1997 corvette (which i was going to sell but cant, its just too nice a bass) and currently it has active EMG’s with just V/V/T pots. With EMG’s it has a beautiful rich tone...
