I am really enjoying Mike Claiborne's most recent album, MC3. Awesome jazzy/funky stuff!

Well this was in ‘78 when pop music could be well- crafted. Just check out the cool bass counterpoint to the vocal melody-

I confess to buying a black Standard SG- I don’t know why ... well maybe that was a bit ingenuous of me to say-

Since we are heavy right now...Cave In. Trepanning. I love the riff that starts at :15, and if you don t like the screaming, wait for the great vocals at 0:40. Sadly the bass player/screamer died in a car accident earlier this year.

Randomly came across this, some really great moments here:

Coleman Hawkins - Esquire Bounce

7-8 years ago I wrote a tune called Esquire Bounce . Yesterday a guy emailed me saying hey that's an old CH tune

Which it's not but yeah same title

It’s been a while since I first heard this at a rock and roll bar as a senior in high school. Within a week I purchased Wish You Were Here on the strength of this song-

Not a huge Zep fan, but one of their best tunes imo. JPJ is awesome.
Marcus at it again lol. He always gets great horn players too.

I'm studying my Bootsy this weekend. Was just learning the main riff to this one. It's rhythmically tricky.
