Well I did it...first Warwick!

wow those pictures make the thumb BO look good! usually thumb BOs arent very photogenic but you did a good job, and CONGRATULATIONS

I absolutely love my Warwicks and the Thumb BO4 holds a special place, since I use it most often. (I was an old Fender Jazz Bass guy and I for me the Thumb is a much better sounding, much better quality-made instrument.)

I sold my Jazz bass among other things to finance the purchase of the Thumb! I know it's early days yet, but so far have no regrets or doubts that I've done the right thing. And I really did like the jazz!
 
Oil Can, probably a daft question, but could I ask your views on the Corvette Fretless you have? They had one in the shop when I picked the Thumb up and it's something I'm seriously considering for my next purchase!
 
Schweet bass there mate. Get thee some Warwick wax, you'll find taking care of that beauty will be a labor of love.

I'm a bit late in on this thread... let me just say that the Thumb BO4 is a bloody awesome bass... and it always looks more bloody awesome in the flesh than it does on photos.

I know what you mean, it's frustrating when you can't get it to look as good in the pic as does for real!
 
Flippin, the Corvette fretless is a great sounding bass, and reminds me a bit of a Jazz Bass I owned in the late '70's that was equipped with a Warmoth or Mighty Mite (I forgot which) fretless neck. Only the Corvette has much stronger pickups. Some people might turn up their nose at the Corvette Standard since it does not have active electronics, but in my experience the fretless version absolutely sings.

If you have access to one at your local music store, you might want to check it out.

Thanks Oil. I had a quick go on the one they had, but I think I'm going to go over there and spend some time with it.

I'm seriously thinking of selling or trading my Rickenbacker (tough decision) for another Wic and would like to get something to complement my Thumb. I'm going to start another thread and get some views, but I may just go for the fretless.
