Hi guys!

I wondered this forum months ago, talkung about buying this bass. Finally I've bought it!!!!!!

I bought failrly cheaper, becauser it was even sold and re-sold... but how can a '91 W Bass get older nowadays??? No way!!!

I'm impressed, really, I see that I have a very very good bass on my own... I think that the "thumb" name is quite innapropiated because it isn't the best bass oriented for slap, but you can. On the other hand, this bass is excellent for its sound, its character and it's fine sound, expressely for fingerplaying. And... wow! 26 frets! It also has a very very good and well-responding low B string. I'm in love with it! I'm lucky, because it's very well conserved. Maybe some day it will require some fret work, but not now. The harware is very well and the knobs are OK too. It has only any blow, but not considerable.. and anyway, you know this bass is indestructible!

Yes, among all this, I know that it's very heavy.. and It's! I will have to manage this, but no problem.

So, I need some help. I don't know how works the EQ knob, I've noticed that you can pull it and control anything, but I actually don't now what. Can anyone help me?

So, I've entered in the Warwick world. I'm very happy and proud... so, that I will post some pictures for you to envy me :P

Congratulation , it's a piece of bass history that you got there , with it's OWN singing voice.
It work like that :-First knob Volume and if you pull the knob you will run in passive tone.
-Second knob is the pan
And the double one work for treble and bass cut and boost.
How much did you paid for it and where , i 'm looking for one of those too.
 
Looks like she needs a little cleaning :P -- Espically the fretboard.

Isnt the best slap bass??? :shock: That's was the main idea behind it's design mate.Maybe ya need to spend a little more time with it yet. :wink:
The push/pull volume knob is an active/passive switch.

+1 When I was bass hunting I was looking for some that had an awesome tone for slap... And as you an see the Thumb won :)

Nice grain on that body - good score!

I love my Thumb NT that I won off eBay a couple weeks ago. It has a very distinct sound and I find it to be a slap monster! Yours should be making you "slap happy"...

I have one and must say I agree... not the best slap bass. Love the bass but not for slapping. For that I like my Fender '76 with maple neck. That's killer! :twisted:
 
OK! Thanks guys. I'll post another pic on the "Show your bass" thread when i have it cleaned ;)

The push-pull knob I was referring, is the tone push-pull... that I guess that is a phase shifter, or a inverse phase in pickup combination switch. Anyway, this switch offer a cool change on the colour of the sound, specially on the combinated position.

For the Mid, I noticed the trimmer on the hardware, and I've played with adjusting it, but it's a mess! Finally, I left the trimmer in the same position as it was in the beggining.

And for extra info, the bass was crafted on feb'90 !!! yea! I was 9 years old then hahaha.

Two more things... 1) I'll need to improve my slap playing... I will have to make an effort to make it sing well in slappy playing! I think you all could teach me good ways to do it!

and 2).. are you ready to get fool? mmm... the price I've paid... mmm... hehehe only 1195 euro!!!!!! This one bass was sold for 1800 few months ago... and I've been the luckiest person in the world for a day!!!! I left the music shop with the bass in my hands, I hadn't left the oportunity. THe owner was near Mataró, Barcelona.

:shock: Maybe the knobs have been re-arranged,I dunno,but a stock Thumb NT has a 3 way eq with an passive bypass push/pull knob.
