About Blackwood ( acacia melanoxylon )

A visually stunning timber, Blackwood has also become an important tonewood. Most Blackwood comes from the Otway Ranges in Victoria & the Northern parts of Tasmania in Australia. It often displays "fiddleback" character and "AAA" grade Blackwood can be intensely figured.

It has a warm, full tone with a particularly pleasing mid frequency response and has become a most sought after wood.

Neat, a $$ streamer. I like the wood but I think it would look like crap with the standard black headstock. The matching one was definitely the way to go...

I've always dug the Corvette body shape and this bass is no exception. But I've never been a huge fan of the Streamer body shape (the "looks like a Specter" factor). This bass might give me some hope. Both basses look awesome...

I certainy hope it looks like a Spector, since Warwick stared making streamers under contract from Spector, following the design by Ned Steinberger...

So, no shame in the "looks like a spector" bit of the streamers. But I can understand people who don't like them...
