Hi i have the option of buying a secondhand Streamer LX4. I have had a corvette in the past and was considering a Corvette $$ as i would like another warwick to settle on as my last bass purchase.
Which one should i get i always liked streamer shape as a bit more conventional than corvette.
Oh and can you get marks off the body where hand/thumb rested while playing?!
Cheers!

I feels it's more ergonomic, too. But handling is just one aspect. How important are choice of woods and PUs to you? Which sound suits you purposes best?

What kind of finish does it have?

i have Fender jazz at the mo and that suits me. had P=J setup before and thats was ok too! had a MM sterling and that was great too! i lked the corvette i had j-j pickups- but prefer streamer shape.

i have a fender 62 jazz and a warwick corvette double buck and i find them the perfect combination, so join the club man and get that double buck and keep that fender of yours happy, i owned a warwick streamer lx in the past too and the double buck blows it away.

What's your preference? I like the vette body myself over the streamer...

Without having tested the streamer I must say I'm extreemly happy with the Vette $$ 5-string. I got it resently, practised with the band for the first time today an now i'm suffering from bleeding blisters on my fingers.

The instrument fits like a glove and kicks serious butt.

/P

Many thanks everyone! I want to replace my Japanase Fender 62 Re-issue with a one for all bass! Lovely bass but i long for a warwick -should never have sold old corvette!
May i ask anyone who has a black stained $$ how the finish is in real life so to speak? eg do yuo like / it does it look nice?! my old corvette was burgandy red and lovely but a black bass would suit all playing occasions be it weddings, pubs etc etc. just cant make my mind up from pics on the internet and no warwick dealers anywhere near me! i know how a corvette is its the colour now!
thanks.

It was a quick desition for me ....

I'm the layed back guy, in the background, doing all the work together with the drums. Music style is rock. Therefore ... US swamp ash Nirvana Black.

Just look at the difference between my pair. And look at the different pick-ups....

does the black look as good as that in the flesh so to speak?! if so i am now sold!

Not sure what you mean with "flesh" but if you translate it to Swedish it would be "Kött" or maybe "Köttig". I'd say, the body is kind'a small but with the huge humbuckers it looks fat. The red Swamp Ash looks even more evil .... but I'm a nice guy.... 8)

Nevertheless the sound overrules the looks. It's cool and versatile .... and cheap(er than the streamer).

i have a black $$ and it's simply gorgeous..the best finish ever imho :D

so in black when you look at it of r real its an all go situation?!

...... choose the sound before looks.... The Nirvana Black has a matt finish and in my opinion a Rock look.

As reference, just look at "Lex's" white streamer!! Beautiful, but I'd never put that on my belly (mostly because I couldn't afford it ..... no jealousy here .... you bastard Lex... :D :D :D ).

If you want to look good at weddings and still keep the electronics of a $$ Vette, you can probably order a custom body/color at Warwick.

Cheers!

My $$ in black looks the muts nuts. You can still see a bit of brown in the stain. Played my second loud gig with it tonight and my drummer keeps going on about how it cuts through. I'm sold - anyone looking for some fenders!
