I jusr picked up a streamer lx and its very much quieter than my other basses, any ideas to up the output at all?

Hi mate,
First of all, the output is not such a big deal, that's why you have an imput gain in your amp. I saw thumb NT with very low output, and a korean MM copy with very hot output... beeing passive!

You can get the pickup closer to the strings, try 2,5 - 3mm for bridge pick-up, and set the neck pickup to have the same volume.

Good luck :-)

hi

Hi thanks for the thought, ive already raised the pups as best i can to the strings but still need more. Although i know the input gain is there to be adjusted the level is way lower than all my other basses which are fairly hot (FNA jazzman with duncans, a stingray and status/fender jazz with EMGS and east preamp and an ibanez BTB556)
Live i change basses regularly between songs so dont really have time to stop and readjust the preamp gain on my amp up or down according so i need to achieve as similar output across the basses as possible.

I was wondering about the emg pa2 booster preamp, would this work in conjunction with the existing preamp?

Somewhere on this forum someone had the similar problem and he was advised to adjust a little pot inside the contact cavity that regulates the output coming from the basses preamp, but I'm unable to find this thread anymore...

Only the 3 band eq's.

I've plugged the EBS microbass so much... I have to declare I DON'T have shares in the company.

But... if you get an EBS, you can plug two basses in, set the levels separately, then switch between the two using a footswitch! There are probably other pre-amps that do the same thing!
