The Waiting Thread....

It's ever so slightly weird but it doesn't seem to make me play any worse than usual ;) It still feels surreal so own a SS1 though.

I bet you sounded a bit better than "pretty good" with the P-Nut and Hellborg :D

Mmmmm....P-Nut and a Hellborg....!!!!

Hey Gerry. Your signature should just read "Gerry and his funky P-Borg" :D

Lol, tone was superb but it was still me playing! I honestly can not ask for more from Warwick. This is mainly why I'm getting a back up bass with an opposite personality. I've heard you play the Thumb with your band but I'm really interested to see how you dial in that SS1 for the same job.

I think Ill got for an opposite sound. Chunky bassy sound from the SS1 (should sit below the guitars better) and keep the thumb for more aggressive times (songs like "We See Right Through You" should be awesome with the Thumb).

I've always been conscious that the Thumb is probs not the best bass choice when you have 2 guitars to fight against. A bass with mids just fights against them :D

I never needed over the top mids for anything I've been into. Increasing mids on my bass only makes the voice of the bass come through more clearly. Very little hum in single coil mode while favoring one pickup and the humbucker is dead silent. The Thumb I had was so strong, I was always told "the bass is too loud" ....what does that even mean?;) I never could get the G and sometimes the D string to come through as strong as the B and E. Then again, I had the NT and know squat about dialing in.:x That's probably why I like what I have now. You don't have to know jack to have a good sound. The PNut is a monster and the HB is a straight up bully in an fancy suit. Damn, I almost forgot, this thread is because I'm waiting for a new bass! It better be freaking incredible even though it's just a decoy. I'm also about to be waiting for either a Warwick BC300 or another Markbass CMD102P. Gonna save the HB for better times.;)
Let me know when you use that SS1. I think I almost bought that one right before you did.
