Sure, you are right, I am ot even talking about this. He says:
This is not true. We are still a small German company, and I think we have better materials, and actually much more attention for details as back in 88.
I once asked HP about some basses missing serial number, and he answer to me "I am lucky that I survived the 80,s, don't ask me about serial number)
It hard to start a business, especially in the world where fender/gibson/ibanez rules for so many years and congrats to warwick have made it !! That's a nice answer !! lol
I see this kind of comment very often, in fact most of the times someone has to sell an old vintage streamer or SSII... It's just some kind of annoying "seller speech", to try to get more $$ in the sell from some 'wick collectors...
I agree with you that the quality of the new one are flawless/top notch/sounds damn good, and it's wrong that you can say that the old one were better made: they were more handmade, they can't be as consistent from one instrument to an other and technologies and manufacturing process evolved so much... I liked to see the shop tour on the web site by the way !!! Very instructive to see how they are made and the manufacturing process, and the attention to details...
I agree too that the old one sounds a bit different, but in fact, each instrument sounds "a bit" different from an other. This is more true from handmade instrument... For me, I like the old thinner shape and feel of old wenge neck... and the fact that it was handmade... (and maybe cuz you can get them cheaper...in fact, if I had the money, for sure I'd get a CS, a four string SSI with wenge neck and fingerboard, afzelia wings and neck stringers.. MEC electro and a d-tuner... woah !!! ) But that is purely a matter of taste IMO...
By the way, here's an old looking good violet Fortress Masterman :
