The Heads Up Thread

So weird. Only when I quote you, can I gain access to the pic.

Yeah, those cutaways are interesting.
Weird, I will choose another picuploader in future...

Yes it is from 1993, it was passive. The painting seems to be original... Maybe it was fair model or a prototype?
I modified it to be my bass for the stage.
DiMarzio Pickups, Noll electronic (treble, mid, bass, volume). Instead of a balance poti, I solded a 3 way switch in.

Very nice. I think I like the cutaways. Different.

Oh and btw... I can now see you original pic. No need to change anything. Seemed to just be temporary weirdness :)

For a Pro Series especially. Pretty cool.

Doc Bass has a ton of NOS from 2006-08ish.

A brand new '06 Dirty Blonde, '07 Flamin' Blondes...and a bunch of region specific SE's.

Ahh that flaming blonde! Wants a ton for it though, almost $2700, plus who knows if it would have a Cites issue

Paul... Doood. I was going to alert you, but yeah... that price. Ouch. 3k min.

CITEs/customs issues are a concern, but Bliff who just bought that Thumb 5 from Japan, I think mentioned there was no Customs charge or delay at all. Totally normal delivery/pick up. So it gives one a little more confidence to buy from Europe. Maybe. Don't take my word for it though :p:)

With that said...I have my eye on that '06 LTD. All things considered (and past deals on NOS considered) ... 3k is a respectable price for a brand new CS, let alone LTD.

Brand. New. Me. Likey. :D Also, if I'm not mistaken...still under warranty, when purchased from an authorized dealer. Haha.

Just buy the damn thing, amazing bass, at an amazing price, and probably there is no better low B in the world.

Damn. I thought I made a good deal on the BOBN, and then you show me this...
Price is crazy, seriously. It's way too low. I'd be crying if it was a Broadneck.
Buy it now.
Buy it and learn to paly the 5er.
Then, have Markus build a BuzzTard 5er. :-)

No, it may be a troublemaker. My last Thumb NT5 was and I swore not to buy another one. Also there is that Corvette on the way.

Yeah but if it's good... '89, EMGs, Sayt'n chrome...

Btw, what was the trouble with your NT5?

Truss rod coming out of the neck. The well known issue with the non volute Wicks. Could be fixed, I sold the bass for low to a friend who has no further problems with the bass.

Sounds so odd... Normally if you tighten the rod a bit, which you most probably will, it will stay in place. The usual problem I've seen with old non-volute Wicks is the neck snapping because some super excited bass player smashed the headstock to a wall or something.
